Sell the G and get 2 cars?

call me crazy, but i got this idea, of selling the my 2005 G and buy 2 cars, one of them's a used s2000 maybe 2001 or 2002, costs around 20k, and left with 9-10 k for a nice beater that saves on gas...my gf needs a car, so I can give that to her. Insurance wouldn't be much more.

What do you think? Saw people driving S2000, that car looks good when roof down, in the sun... anyone ever own an S2000, how are they?

A guy I work with has one and loves it. It is way to small for me, but I'm 6'3" and 220lb.

So you're selling your G to buy your girlfriend a car?

A) If she's not wearing your ring, you should be buying her big stuff.
B) Ask her when you get your turn wearing the pants in the relationship.

If you *must* trade down, the S2000 is a great choice from what I've heard.

An S2000 had more allure to me than the Corvette... ...but neither had back seats. That said, I still dream of one day grabbing a used S2000 as a project for my son and I. Strip it out and drop in a fully-built screamer. It would be fun.

And, of course, they're nice enough inside for daily driving. Definately something to be said of Honda's great craftsmanship and better-than-average reliability as well.

Personally, I'd be really inclined to keep most of the extra cash from the sell of your G. You'll want it for mods to the S2000 (yes, you will ). Consider, instead, helping your gf. Selling your G to help buy her a car is one helluva nice move to make as her bf. Now, if you're pretty much married and just haven't committed, I could understand a little more. But still, selling your G to help her get her own car is a tremendous thing to do. I don't think you need to buy the whole enchilada.

Consider a down-payment on something she can afford the monthly on. Likewise, if she only has to get a loan for half the price of some beater, it should be a slam-dunk approval and a low payment.

Keep things in perspective. You'll still come out like a hero... ...especially if you can get her into something relatively new.

thanks guys for your comments. it's just a thought actually, i will probably lost around 7k selling my G including sales tax, which I own for 11 months. And 2 more car sales tax on top of that...

stupid tax's killing people left and right.

I am actually amazed that many of you like the S2000.. besides it's a honda, it look hella nice compare to the Z4 in my opinion.

Dude. After owning an '03 Honda Oddyssey minivan (loaded), I became a big Honda fan. I'd really enjoy something sporty from them, such as the high-winding S2000.

FWIW, that Oddyssey turned me from a anti-minivan car guy into a car guy that really appreciates how badass Honda's minivan is. Used to humiliate sports cars on the highway (and twisties) all the time. Even with it's size, it handled extremely well and had the power to pull out of corners quickly. Did I mention how stealthy a gray Honda minivan is? Very nice when cruising at 90mph was as drama-free as 55mph.

I love the S2000 so if you are going to do it I would say its a nice trade... I was looking into getting one (06) before I decided on the G because I wanted something with back seats.... S2K is a sweet car

I almost bought one before buying my G! I'd still buy one if I had the money.
