WTF!! Throttle body replacement!
Mine went out with almost 100k miles, bone stock. SES light came on the day before, my wife drove to work and parked and it just wouldnt start when she was getting ready to leave. No warranty, 1000 bucks to fix.
So I've been having this problem happen to me a lot this week. I plan to take it in to get fixed, but doubt the dealership will be able to do it for me over the weekend. Right now I've got a Stillen CAI + z tube... If I were to change my intake back to stock would it stop doing this or do I just need to get the throttle body replaced?
My first post here.
I've been searching for a thread on this issue. Sounds like it ought to be a recall thing.
This happened to me today. In a.m. rush hour traffic on the interstate. Zap everything went flat!!! I was stuck in the fast lane with a car that would barely go 35 mph. I limped to the dealer. Fortunately I have to pass the dealers exit on the way to work so I was headed in the right way. I was at the dealership early and the G was in the service dept on a lift before my ride got there to take me to work. I picked my car up after lunch.
My G's an 04' 6 mt coupe with 25600 miles on it. I was ramping from I-40 to I-240 in Memphis at heavy rush hour traffic speed.

I had mine replaced a few months ago. It should be a recall, and it's frankly unsafe to just cut the power like that. yeah, I know that it's trying to protect the engine, but when other cars are going 80 MPH, they're not expecting a car to be in limp mode with a top speed of 20 MPH, being unable to rev past 1.5K RPM. What's the point of protecting the engine when you're putting lives at risk. Stupid ECU.
