hey davidchoi425 can you explain a little more on why your car went in for an air bag fix i would really like to know because this may very well be a serious problem and somebody could get hurt or even killed if their airbag does not go off. i think the only reason why i walked away from this in the fact that i am a pretty big person and hit the gym up 4 times a week. but my neck and lower back really dont feel the same since that happened.

Wow...

That's pretty messed up that the other airbag went off and not yours. I wonder if somehow the wiring got reversed or something in your car(seems unlikely, but who knows). That seems like it could be grounds for a law-suit if you were in fact injured at all from the lack of airbag deployment.

Hopefully you're all right and things work out in the end. Good luck.

Have you had a 3rd party to check whether you actually had airbag on your driver side???

Infiniti's customer service sucks like sh*t. I'll never get a Infiniti again (family was thinking a SUV and I opposed strongly about their getting a FX because the service Infiniti provides is inadequate) until I have proof that they have improved their customer service. It is a shame to have such a great car but the support behind the car is terrible.

I dunno guys guys....Like everything in the world nothing is guarantee to work. How do you test a air bag from the factory to make sure it works? It's a one time thing. That's why the 2 lawyers are probably not taking the case because they know they don't have one. You can sue the city for the bus driver but to go sue infiniti is just going to be a uphill battle but go ahead and try...Sorry for the misfortune bro...GL and take care...

i dont get it...
if you are alone and there's no one sitting on passenger seat, doesnt the passenger seat airbag turns off?
unless you put some weights on the passenger seat along w/ seatbelt buckled up, it's pretty hard to believe that the car is in normal condition.
good luck

I beg different. So just because there is no way to really test whether your car's airbags will deploy correctly unless an accident does happen (and impact at the right spot), car manufacturers actually have no responsibility for the flaw airbag system? That doesn't sound right to me at all, especially in the US where lawsuits against giant corporations happen so often.

What happens if the car manufacturer advertises one model with side airbag but after the customer purchases it for the additional side airbag option but did not get benifited from this feature because of the flaw design/bad workmanship, wouldn't that be like a false advertisement or something at least? What's the point of airbag when the car manufacturer can't even guarantee that it works as promised.

This also applies to all safety feature such as seat belt; what if seat belt got loosen in a fairly small impact, what's up with that?

I think gone01 should demand to have a certified party to examine the airbag system of his car and figured out the reason why the airbag did not deploy (and why the passenger side deployed instead). In addition, gone01 should demand that infiniti pays the examiniation fee. I wouldn't even let infiniti engineers to touch the car before it is examined by a certified party first because you never know whether your evidence of a flaw airbag system would be covered up by infiniti. Of course, by the time the examination report is out, gone01 and his lawyers and infiniti should know if there is a case or not.

I am MORE concerned whether gone01's situation may happen to my car as well that the airbag would not respond as I expect (and am told, and acknowledged before writing my check to my dealor). I definitely support gone01 to take further step.

ensheep is on the same page as me. im glad that i can walk and function in day to day life but what if this happens to one of you and you don't get so lucky. i paid for a product that was supposed to work, it didn't. so if you pay for a pacemaker and it doesn't keep your heart going is that alright? no way!!!!!!!!! this is a serious safety issue that infiniti is paying no attention to and are very relaxed about. but since i didn't die and i'm not in a wheelchair i guess its not a big thing for them.
