your airbags might not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, because you did not get injured, you cannot sue infiniti for the "malfunction", if thats indeed what it was. It certainly seems it should have gone off. I'm sure you're happy you were wearing your seatbelt and I'm glad to hear you're okay. The Bus company's insurance should cover all the costs.
Hmm... The purpose of Airbag is NOT to make sure you do not get injured, nor to guarantee your optimal body condition after the accident. So what is the purpose of Airbag? I think airbag is simply a tool that tries to reduce impact on human body to minimum as possible. But that doesn't mean you won't get injured ; it means you are "likely" to get hurt less severely on most cases.
I really do not think the issue is injured-related in this case. The concern is how come the airbag did not deploy as it was supposed to, and more interestingly, how the f*ck did the passenger side airbag deploy for no reason?
I believe if you find a good lawyer at least you can have both infiniti/nissan engineers AND a certified third party to examine the car for you to clarify your concerns (and ours as well). At least you will know what to expect in the future (if the airbag system is not a flaw).
If you are serious about it maybe you may consider taking this issue to local news station? I don't know, this is just another issue after the tire-feathering. If the tire feathering won consumers some rights back, I would say this airbag incident will too! Maybe gone01 will escalate this issue and benifit all G35 drivers in the end, then gone01 will be my hero -) haha
The key is the poor and inconsiderate customer service Infiniti has been providing. Some people may not agree with me, but if I go to a 5-star restaurant, I expect to receive a 5-star service. Similarly, if I am paying for a car that carries a "luxury brand" image, I expect to receive luxurious service with no exception! Not to mention this could be a life-and-death issue. If gone01 had driven a Lexus, he would have received tons of calls from Lexus HQ already, and Lexus would have made sure that everything is alright so the matter is not escalated to legal actions. That's how you do customer service!

went to 2 of them. yesterday got an independent investigator hired by nissan to check my car i think he did an ecu check and look for the airbag sensor dunno exactly but nissan is supposed to get back to me on what the deal is and if they are hiding secrets that could save you life.
That's the problem with many safety devices, you will never know if they work correctly until you need them. Fortunately, it seems rare by most accounts. But the mfr. should certainly respond to any such incidence with concern.
But it certainly makes two good points:
Don't do mods to your vehicle that might impair safety systems.
Don't purchase cars with shady titles. You don't know where they've been.

I agree with gone01 and ensheep on this one. It doesn't matter how nice or luxurious the car seems to be if it won't do **** for you in a wreck. After all, that is why we have the NHTSA, IIHSA etc. right? I've also experienced Infiniti's extremely poor customer service from Consumer Affairs about my brake problem in my '05 X. I'm a loyal buyer but I can tell you that I doubt I'll be picking up another Infiniti anytime soon and this story just reaffirms that feeling.
Check out some of these sites and do what you need to..

Also have you had work done at any shady shops...airbag theft is pretty common due to their cost.

There may lay the answers as to why "nobody wants to go up against Infiniti"...
my chest and forearm hit the steering wheel and my neck and lower back every once in a while shoot sharp pains. i really don't think i'll be getting a new infiniti after this experience. on a lighter note yesterday i test drove the s4 and i just have to say that germans sure know how to build a car! but i will keep you guys and gals posted on what happens with the investigation, i guess i will have to see if nissan will release the report that was done on my car to me.
