Those wanting dust-free Brembo replacement pads (and rotors), read and look inside...

For those who want brake-dust free performance pads, I highly recommend the Hawk HPS Street brake pads from Tirerack.

I put these on with the slotted cryo rotors from Tirerack and the set-up looks and performs great and has almost no brake dust. The cryo rotors just look bad-***! The center of the rotor keeps the matte silver look from the cryo treatment but the pad surface becomes bright silver as you wear through that initial cryo layer so you end up with a two-tone look that is quite cool.

As for the dust, it hasn't rained here in about 2 weeks so I hadn't washed my car until today and I couldn't believe how little dust there was! What was there mostly washed off with the hose and the rest was very easy to get off. With the OEM pads the wheels would have been black.

The pads and rotors are comparable in performance to OEM and make no noise at all. I am convinced that at least 50% of the threads where people say that their brakes are squeeking is due to them not being installed properly with the mechanic taking the time to do all of the tedious steps necessary to correctly put on new pads.

And, for those of you wondering if you can turn OEM Brembo front rotors, the answer is almost definately no if you want to keep them in spec. After 33,000 miles my front OEM rotors were worn like crazy--you could feel the lip created when the rotor material wore away. The rears, however, were fine.

I apologize for the yellow corner lenses, some A-hole stole my clears and I just got my new ones in! If anyone on this board stole some clears in MD a couple of weeks ago, you're a di**!

I'm about to change my brembo spec pads pretty soon, I'll give these a try. As for rotors, it's a shame we can't resurface them at least once.....but i'll keep the rotors in mind. Hopefully, they aren't too expensive.

Yeah the Hawk pads are nice. But I would not call them dust free. But they are def better than stock when it comes to dust.

Of course they are non totally dust-free, but they are as dust-free as the most dust-free pads I have ever had on any of my cars!

The nismo pads are also pretty good. I'm running Nismo in the fronts and OEM brembo pads in the rear.

The rear has about 3x as much dust as the fronts now.

i thought that the nismo s tune pads were basically repackaged hawk hps pads.

you dont need to apologize for the amber corners...i think they look better than clears in certain setups...i have the brembos and i think they go with them very nicely...also for those that are going to change pads to the hawks, you should keep your oem shims, and apply some anti brake squeal to the back of the pads.
