Super Charger debate
I am taking a hard look at the Stillen Stg 2. Of course I want to add the Stillen exhaust as well.
Only drawback is the hood replacement.
Any other G35 drivers with a different S/C setup? (Please include exhaust rec's)
Beyound that, are there any other parts that are necessary to do the upgrade? Basically, can a stock G 35 6 mt handle a Stillen stage 2 w/o risk to the suspension? Brakes? Camshafts?
My co-worker is a Lan-Evo freak and he insists I need to add tons of new parts if I upgrade to a S/C.
While doing this mod, is it a good idea to drop in some new (Nismo or other high performance) cams?

yea dude, u definately dont need a new internals... stage2 is good to run with all the stock parts.. you might want to look into a good exhaust for sound aspect of it but its not necessary...
the evo guy is just trying to turn you away from FI since u'll crush his little 4 banger.
I'd go Vortec tho.. Stillen is good but i hate their hood and the whine that comes from that thing is incredibly annoying.

in case there is confusion, only stage 2 will warranty your engine
"The Only 50 State Legal Supercharger or Turbocharger for the 350Z / G35 / FX35 (Stage 2 only)
The Only Supercharger or Turbo Kit with an optional 3 year / 36,000 mile engine warranty (Stage 2 only)"
i say go vortech and keep your stock hood..

Honestly, i'd just go for the turbo kit. It'll give ur car a better lift...AND...it will be a hell of a lot easier on ur gas mileage since superchargers are constantly kicking-in and working, it'll guzzle ur gas a lot faster than a turbo that won't be kicking-in all the time. Plus, with a turbo u not only add tremendous whp, but u can keep ur evo-driving friend on a leash for a while... !
Of course...there is the monetary aspect...so up to you.

The Stillen will not use hardly any more gas than a turbo. That is an urban myth. Actually a SC can help your gas mileage if you trust superchargersonline . I can say that if I drive my stillen stage 4 like I did before I installed it my mpg is the same (~19-20). If I am hard on it then it goes down. It takes more gas and air to make more power but the parasitic loss from the SC has not affected me at all.
It all depends on what kind of power you are looking for. The Stillen is a monster up until ~5500rpm where it dies off. The torque is instant and there is no lag at all. Mine makes full torque at 2800rpm! The vortech is the polar opposite, it is like stock up until ~3500rpm and then it becomes a monster. The peak numbers are higher for the Vortech but the daily-driver may not like the powerband. I chose the Stillen because I wanted something that is tons of fun I can enjoy without taking my car way up in the rpm's. I can just drive it hard up until 4k and have a blast. Oh and the sound of a roots blower is soooo sweet!
It all comes down to what you want out of going FI.
