Re: dvd navigation sys

i dont know about your problem but i have a question. i am thinking of purchasing the g35c as my first car. in the dvd navigation sys does it actually play movie or do u have to install your own dvd system. if it does it would be tight.

someone already posted on here somewhere that the navigation screen has user-accessible inputs, you'd probably have to take out the dash but... you can get a signal selector to choose if you want to watch a movie or the nav, just gotta get a standalone dvd player and install that somewhere and connect it to the switch

Re: dvd navigation sys

I dont know about the laws by you and who may install it for you but it is illegal to have a lcd screen playing movies in view of the driver while the car is in motion. When i got my DVD player in my Q45 I had to sign a waiver and so did the dealer( I assume it's a NY state thing) there is a switch that knows when my parking brake is on and then the DVD player will work.. :-) the installer also told me some things i could do to get around it but he wouldnt do it himself. :-)
but I've heard of people getting pulled over for it, so I would get a dark tint if your gonna drive with it.

Re: dvd navigation sys

its called DVD Navigation because all of North America street maps are stored on the DVD

last year nissan/infiniti used CD's for navigation, CD's hold alot less data so you'd have to purchase a different map CD from them for every region in the USA, now just 1 DVD completes the entire continent, sweet huh?

Re: dvd navigation sys

supposedly, the screen itself has 2 inputs in it, you'd have to get behind the dash somehow, so one of them already goes to the DVD/NAV unit, the other you can plug into a dvd player that you can buy from somewhere
