He said he would never buy another BMW ever again.

Despite all of the BS hype that the Madison Avenue types sell to the masses, every car manufacturer including BMW and Porsche make some really bad cars. The problem with the German marques is that when you have the misfortune of buying one of their problem cars, chances are that you paid big bucks for the "pleasure."

my friend just got an 07 530i smg....its pretty cool but honestly id rather have a stick. The feeling you get when the car shifts is almost like a motion sickness because its doing it on its own, rather then when you do it with a regular clutch you get ready for the shift. Its hard to explain....its a nice feature but for me 6 speed for life.

if i planned on keeping the car for myself it would have been stick no question. but i plan on giving it to my sister when she graduates high school so the auto option is a must. also.. not sure which member said that when the new m3 comes out that the prices of the e46 will drop. but i really dont think that a cpo 04 or 05 with 10k-15k miles on it will change much.. i mean they are still basicly new. maybe a grand or two. what do you think fellas

My buddy at work bought an 03 M3 with 16,000 miles for 40 grand. I bought my 06 G35 without nav, aero package or rear steer for about 32,500 plus tax and license....He's had the car in the shop at least 5 times in this past year for the check engine light and some other minor issues.....With all my mods I've probably paid about the same as him for his used bimmer.....Plus I think the G looks much better and more unique than the yuppie bimmer..........just my 2cents

p.s. Stillen stage 2 supercharger up next on the mod list!!!!!!!!!!!!

i read through half the posts so i dont know if im repeating something.. but i have a 6spd g35 coupe and i've driven my buddy's smg m3 convertible and let me just tell you that the smg transmission is the best thing i've ever driven.. its simply amazing.. its very hard to put into words unless you go for a test drive yourself... super fast shifting.. very smooth.. its easy to get perfect launches, its easy to get perfect burnouts... its just straight up the best and most fun driving experience u can possibly get out of a transmission!

Buying any used car is an adventure, but buying a used sports car compounds the risk since some guys beat the hell out of their cars and then sell them to some poor unsuspecting buyers. It doesn't help that the price for used M3s is so high.

If I were to buy a used M3 it would have to be a late model, a 2004 or newer CPO car. In other words I wouldn't buy it unless I had a minimum of three years / 30K miles of warranty.

Link?

In Florida you won't find an 04 CPO with low miles AND fully loaded for 44k. Forget an '05. Remember you get what you pay for... caveat emptor especially if buying sight unseen.

People in Florida armor all their interiors? We drive our cars all day? People buy cars from the southern states just because they've never seen snow and salt... lol... '05 with a whopping 19k miles in Colorado... sounds like a daily driver to me, so what's the point in saying that Florida people drive theirs all day? I know plenty of people who have an M3 as a second car in Florida, and they're not rusty and corroded either...

What original 6/100k warranty? It came from factroy with 4/50k warranty...you better jump on that M3 you founded, I found an 04 JetBlk/Cinn SMG with less than 9k miles in July of 05 for 48k without Navi tho, at first I didnt wanted an Blk car so I wait few days before I deicided to give them a call(cus there were no used 04 with SMG even come close to that price), but when I did called few days later? they told me it was sold the day after they posted for sale.

Arent we awful picky now? Only place you can use Armorall crap is on the dash, they usually uses leather conditioners on the seats and on the arm rest/door panels....like Finiti said, you looking to buy an 05 with 19k miles on it? you think that car hasnt been "driving all day"? perhaps not under the hot sun but def drove them thru the road salt few times.
