04' m3 or a 06' g35cp
your right, same here, m3 if you get all proof of maintenance and make sure the car has'nt been beaten... watch out for clutch (not under warranty) and brakes (expensive). Unless i would go with the new car.

(well, maybe we can ask Finiti
)Brakes aint that expensive on M3's, I change them out with drilled/slot rotors/pads, motul 600 for less than 900 all around and stock brakes on M3 lasted heck of lot longer than my 03 G35, think most of M3 onwer reported their brakes last around 40K~ish, compare to 03 G35? I changed front rotors and pads at 13k and 28k, rear pads at 17k and 32k, thank God for the warranty
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer stick shifters. SMG felt detatched imo. Quick car though. Too understated in outer styling. If I pay 50 grand for a 2 year old car, I want just about everyone to know it. Not just the enthusiasts.
take the G, in the long run any maintnance or repairs will be wayyyy cheaper, i heard BMW brake job costs an arm since they dont resurface their rotors and need new parts just for the brake job, friend of mine is paying 800 bucks to have that done, OUCH...i thought our brake jobs were expensive

A lot of people buy used. Some get burned, others don't. One reason not to buy new is the depreciation that you pay right off the bat. I'm not saying buying used is the only way to go but depending on what your priorities are, sometimes it's the smarter choice.
Run the carfax, get it inspected by a reputable shop and decide if you want it. That being said, a new car is cool too. I haven't had a new car yet but I might some day. I've always said though, if I buy new, I'm keeping the vehicle for it's entire life to get my monies worth.
As for the M3 vs new G question. Tough call, both are great cars. Either way a guy (hopefully) can't go wrong.
hard choice, both great cars. it's not very hard to find a low mile well taken careof M3...i know alotta people who only use it for weekends and whatnot. just need to keep an eye out for a good one ..altho the price aint gonna be cheap. there is always a reason if someone is selling their M3 for low price ($40k for an 05? there must be somethign wrong with it).
you can also take a look at the new 335i. heard alotta good things about it and since (soudns like) you are only interested in keeping the car for one or two years, i would go with the M3. you will still have that awsome bmw warranty for coupel more years and than get rid of the car and look into the new M3.
