^^^I agree. Why do people click on this thread just to curse on the thread starter? Don't you guys have anything better to do? Jayelle, you're absolutely right...racism and sexism does exist, especially when it comes to cops deciding whether or not to give you a ticket. Don't believe the others who are disagreeing cuz it probably never happened to them. However, I doubt your situation is due to your race/sex- just simply bad luck.
As for the tint citation, if you got a second citation in the same city before you're first one was due, then i'd say you def. got a chance to fight it. However, it is perfectly legal to have two citations from two different cities/counties. I had a fix-it ticket for my tint, clear corners, and front license plate. I removed the tint, double-sided taped my front license plate, and borrowed a friend's OEM orange corners, drove to a police station, got it written off all at once, then changed back the corners, just took off the front license plate a block away from the station, and redid my tint at 'light' for 35 bucks. Btw, i got cited twice on separate occasions for the missing front license plate and both times just used thick foamy double sided tape.
Also, try going on a busy day like friday so they arent so meticulous when checking your fix-its.
Hope everything goes well!
This jayelleseven guy is trouble. Watch out for him.
He's been known to be a womanizing, slanderish outlaw. He's also racist and EMO, which is why he felt compelled to go with the darker tint.

Yes, I have been pulled over for my rides also. I'm not saying that racial profiling doens't happen, but... using the race card, come on its getting old. I was pulled over in my 240sx on my way home from a funeral because of the way my car looked. I had legal dark tint windows and it was closing in at dusk, so there was no way that he could have seen me. Did he racial profile??? No, more like car profile. If there is such a thing...
I have even had a cop ask me to empty out my pockets to see if I had drugs in them. I was dressed up in my work clothes on my way to work while wearing my AZ state badge. Racial profiling??? I think not. Its more like cops having the ability to pretty much do what they want, where they want, and to do it in whatever mood they are in.
To the original poster. Good luck. While having a fix it ticket and having a certain date to get it done by, I bet you do have a leg to stand on to fight that second ticket.

im not saying that i dont like southerns, in my line of work most of the ppl i deal with are southerners, one thing is for sure its very hard to get them out of the idea that hispanics are druggies and bad people, and this comments has come straight from their mouth after they get to know me...a very good friend of mine who is an ex undercover can tell you tons of stories on how he got pulled over for nothing, just racial profiling even though he was a cop... btw is see you are form the mid-west, not a whole lot of hispanics in your area...jayelleseven, im not 20, i look 20
Once the original citation is issued you have until that date to correct the infraction. You should not have received this second ticket. This has happened to me before and the officer told me as long as produced the first citation i could not get another before the specified day. Hope this helps.

Assumptions... people need to just stop with them. BTW, The Chicago-land area is a very highly diversified culture. You see many different races here, including hispanics.
BTW, what is the definition of "redneck"? Not looking for a fight, but rather, to have others think before they speak. Yes, there is racial profiling and racism, but it comes from every race, not just white.
Take care, and if I am ever in your area, I hope that you would invite me to a nice cold one.
I'm 27, clean cut white male...got pulled over twice in an affluent town that I drive through every day to work....Inspection sticker was 8 months expired (lol), and I got a ticket for it.
4 days later, same town, same road, cop car parked in the same spot watching traffic...pulled me over for the same thing. This time it was a different cop. He let me off with a verbal warning 'cause i showed him my recent ticket and told him I hadn't had the chance to get the inspection done yet. This was in my crappy 97 Maxima with (legally) tinted windows. Oh yeah, and I was wearing a shirt and tie like I do everyday to work. I was doing nothing to draw attn to myself, ****, I was on my way to work early in the morning...
Cops bug everybody, like Black6mt06 said.

im having a hurricane party right now with plenty of beer and rum lol, nah man im not looking for a fight either, ever seen the confederate flag sticker?? ever see a proud to be red neck sticker?? ever watched the Daytona 500??
when i say red neck, its not like using the n word, basically born and raised southern, they are good people but some of them are very closed minded when it comes to other races, like back on the 60's closed mindedI have to see and deal with a lot of races at my work and they are the hardest when it comes to trust specially if you have an spanish accent and dark hair lol, now the big dif between Chicago and Florida is that Chicago always has been diversified, basically a melting pot kind of like NY, in Fl there are certain cities like Miami where is way diversified and Orlando its getting there too, but theres still some other small towns where you can see ppl looking down on you, its unconfortable and childish, makes you feel like you are from another planet or something lol... you know, maybe i should have never used the word red neck, anyways i have made very good friends with some of them, they even took to a Daytona 500, cool peeps, Daytona 500 its crazy btw, such a rush! well sorry if i offended anyone by using the R word lol, but im serious, dont take me for an ******* bc im not

n partyman u are right, ppl beware.. especially when I head to UC and take it by storm! YEAH..
ill keep u guys posted_
Not trying to be a ***** (just trying to be honest), but based on how you look in the pictures that have your reflection in it, I can see why cops (especially CA cops) pull you over and hassle you. Young, hispanic, male, ball cap turned sideways, rolling in a nice car...cops will pull you over just to run your license and reg to see if it's stolen or if you're up to no good and the tint gives them an excuse. If you want to avoid the trouble, maybe you can change the way you look. Not saying you can change your gender or your race, but you can change how you dress and when you see a cop, sit up straight and put your hands on 10 and 2 on the wheel.
I can't imagine how hot it gets with those big coupe windows with no tint. I would at least put the lightest shade on again. IMO, having some tint is worth the risk, but make sure everything else is legal like front plate, current registration, stock lights, nothing hanging from the rear view mirror, etc.
