Yeah, had my done at the dealer. They kept it for the day but I had the "creaking" noise from my driver seat fixed (again), and the oil changed. Took them until Tuesday (left it on Saturday noon), since the techs were looking everywhere for the creaking chair noise (I had to tell where it was at). It's all done and the noise is gone (for now). Basically, they said the took apart the axle, cleaned it, regreased it, and retorque the bolts, and resealed it.

technical service bulletin. supposed to be bulletins from nissan to dealerships on well known problems that surface up on people's cars. but i usually find that the dealer has absolutely no frickin clue as to what's going on. i usually print them out myself and bring them in. their usual response is, "well look at that... had no clue."

u can look up the tsb's here:

I think that I'm getting it too now. Can someone clarify what it exactly sounds like? I'm getting an occassional clicking from the right rear, I believe, but I'm not sure if this is the problem.

Look in Infiniti's help site for the TSB and its description to help recognize the issue.
This site is quite a resource for this kind of data including recalls etc.

So, I took my 2004 AT in for the clicking noise and they fixed it by tightening the rear axle nuts. However, I have a sep noise coming from the rear axle. Sounds more like a clunking noise when changing gears (especially when slowing to a stop). Anyone else have this issue? It's definitely a different sound than the clicking.. that is gone.... Thx.

I picked my coupe up today after dropping it off yesterday morning for the axle clicking. They ordered the parts and fixed it. The clicking is gone, and was covered under warranty

When I had my rear axle worked on last X-Mas, the dealer had to order new rear axle bolts, which were on backorder. Many members here had a long wait for these suckers. My service advisor told me that the original bolts were too short.

Make sure your rims aren't scratched inside the lugs. Mine were scratched to high hell when I brought my car in. Made em fix it and they did without hesitation... but I made sure to point it out to them at the dealer before i actually even stepped back into the car.

thats probably from their air tools they used to remove and replace your lugs. they are supposed to use a torque wrench and do it by hand, but i doubt ANYONE does that these days. how did they "fix" the scratches in there?
