OuCh!!!

On the way home from NYC last night while I was on the Van Wick I bottomed out doing about 80 mph. It was one HARD hit. Fealt like the car was dropped on itself I dont know how to describe it but trust me it sounded bad. I think I am gonna have it thrown on a lift and looked at but until then does anybody have any Idea what I may have done?

PS Nav in the city is a little tricky I did end up heading the wrong way on a one way sreet caues i trusted the nav. Guess I should have trusted the street signs a little more.

Re: OuCh!!!

I did the same thing in my car but I wasn't going 80. I scraped the [^*%%(] our of my rear tubing near the mufflers, and scraped the crossmembers behind the engine. Car still runs the same but I saw a bunch of sparks fly. The G35 suspension sucks... My 91 300ZX had a better suspension.

Re: OuCh!!!

I felt the same thing on my coupe that's why I change the springs. I will change the shocks as soon as koni or bilstein makes them to complete my setup. Changing the springs helped my car specially the rear. I felt the car bottom out on a dip on my way to work going about 60. After the spring install I went on the same dip at same speed and it disappered. You are correct on the suspension on this car it does suck considering it cost about 35k for it.

Re: OuCh!!!

I bottomed out getting on a ferry once. After I got it up on a lift I saw that i hit the muffler, which was ok because I took it off and got the Borla

Re: OuCh!!!

From what I hear from 350Z owners who previously owned a 300ZX the G35 and the 350Z have a better suspension setup. It suppose to be stronger too. What did dealer say about the problem man.

Re: OuCh!!!

Maybe the suspension isn't as stiff for the G, and Im not saying Im the most qualified driver to say this but, I thot the 300zx's suspension wasn't as good as the Gs.

My 300ZX had 5 way adjustable Tokico shocks on them with Stock springs. IMO, the G's suspension is way too soft.

Re: OuCh!!!

Bah, all you east coasters make me jealous. I used to drive the FDR daily, it was a fun drive...even in my honda *gulp* civic. Wow, what a blast from my past.

Now im in Los Angeles. I hear you guys say you're driving 60mph, 80mph to work...i just dont remember what that's like...all the freeways in LA go about 30 mph tops. I'm more worried about bottoming out in my driveway than I am on the roads here.
