1st time key
1st time key
Got 'keyed' yesterday (labor day), although it looks like they used a screw driver and mallet instead.
3" on front left hood.
&
10" on drivers side rear quarter panel.
Gashes are deep and wide.
Estimate: $808.13
Insurance activated and covering with 0 deductable, but still shook up.
And first available appointment is a month away.

Sorry to hear that Switch. I know how you're feeling. My 06 Laser Red was keyed a month after I picked it up! Some stupid punk must have thought it be cool to key someone's car with his "tag"! Anyway, the damage was on the trunk. Some parts are not as deep as others and can probably be buffed out but some areas, where he was more heavy handed actually scratched down to the bare metal. Took it in for an estimate and they quoted me 1,100 to repaint the whole trunk. Haven't really shopped around though, probably cheaper elsewhere.

I wish those people who key peoples cars, have their hands twisted that they can never hold anything again! Their bastards! Sorry to offend anyone, but I hate them!
on a Toronto radio station (CFRB 1010), they were talking about this the other day and this bastard calls in and says he key's cars when he sees cars parked diagonally. WHY? I wish someone recognized that voice and gave him what he deserves!!
This pisses me off!!

isnt it cheaper to just get a new trunk?
i know cf trunks are cheaper than 1100...
well good luck to you both
Lest we all jump on the bandwagon, I'll take one for the team.
Valid reasons to key a car:
1) Someone carelessly parks his/her vehicle (especially a big-a$$ SUV/truck) on the line in a heavily-used parking lot, preventing use of the next space or the ability to get in/out of your car
2) Someone diagonally parks their car NOT at the rear of the lot, thereby consuming 2-4 spaces that other drivers would love to use in a busy parking lot
3) You witness the car's owner key another car
Please feel free to add on your own...
