difference in redline between the 6mt and auto?
whats up guys, i cant wait around any longer to find a nice m3, so decided to just get with a 06 g35coupe. few questions though
1) is there a difference between the engines of the 6mt and the auto as per redline? can the 6mt rev higher?
2) and the offer i got was 12mnth lease with 1000 down (2500 total due at lease for bank fees and etc.) 422 a mnth black on black auto with every option what do you think about that should i do it or can i get a better deal? original deal was 442 mnth only knocked off 20 bucks how can i get him to knock off more? let me know soon cause either today or tommorrow must have a car
thanks

answer is yes..
nice thanks i was searching too but didnt get a real answer. so basicly the revup just has a higher redline because the auto actually has higher torque but less hp, 6mt has higher hp but less torque. so now the question is how much higher does the 6mt rev? if your bored maybe you can get me that info. would be appreciated. but thanks anyway
05 and later 6MT coupes have the rev up engine, redlining at 7100 instead of 6600, and producing 298HP instead of 280HP. My 06 6MT seems to produce near peak power all the way to redline.. so much so that I had to get used to not feeling any shift cues in the way of a let up in acceleration. From my driving I would say my 06 6MT feels quite powerful from 5k-7k rpm, and not much difference in that area, feels pretty linear. Between 3k and 5k I feel a non-linear increase in power and then it just pulls evenly until you shift at redline or hit the limiter.
Oh and btw supposedly the rev-up has beefed up internals among other tweaks for higher performance.
That aside.. the auto feels more sluggish thanks to torque converter slop and one less gear. Test drive them... and decide for yourself
