Would you trade your G35 for a lotus Elise ?

His elise doesn't have the optional sport package, but the ride is still as hard as a rock. You will feel every bump and pothole. Ingress/egress is also a pain with the side sills being so tall. Also, while the driver has some space, the passenger seat has even less. I think you're comparing apples to oranges here. As a weekend, go fast, take to the track car, the elise is a much better choice, but as an every day driver, it is pretty horrible. My roommate uses his camry for the most part since you can't fit much of anything in the trunk of the elise. His golf clubs have to ride shotgun if he takes it to the course. I do not reccomend getting the elise as your only car. You'll be suffering for practicality very quickly
nice!

I wouldn't do it. For the less than the cost of an Elise you could get a Corvette, and although it won't be quite as exotic... it will be faster in a straight line and has a ton of potential in terms of cheap power modifications as well as that intoxicating V8 sound. I'm not one to push on domestic cars, but I just feel that it's too much money for an Elise considering how small and non-functional the thing is.

You could keep the G and get a nice modded FD RX-7. Fun, Fast, and a lot less cost than the Lotus. The only thing is that when I had my 7 I worked on it about once a week to keep it running perfect. I wish I could have kept my FD RX-7 when I bought the G but I needed a reliable daily driver.

I see a few people here are trying to compare the elise to a corvette or an RX-7. I don't want to be a$$, but I've been in a C5 Z06, Evo (with a semi-pro driver), STi, Mustang Cobra, RX-8, and BMW Z4 (only the 2.5 engine though) around the track with my friends during our track days and none of them are anything like the elise. I doubt you'll find much of any car out there that is anywhere near the level of track dedication that the elise is. If any of you frequent my350z and know Chebosto, I've also been in his car around the track (it's a twin turbo, heavily moded Z) and still its not the same. The elise is so raw of a car, that nothing even seems close. When people compare the elise to a kart, I really think that's about as close of a comparison as you'll get. It's small, light, rough as hell, and goddamn fast. I've been around turns in that car that I though I was going to die in, but the car sticks like glue.
