My REV light is always on. Is that normal? I've adjusted the shift light parameters, but that didn't do anything. I'm just wondering.

Yes, unfortunately the "REV" light is always on.

 

you cant adjust the rev light to come on at a very high rpm?

 

The orange "REV" lettering is always backlit but the red rectangular square under it stays lit after passing the minimum RPM setting.

 

set the setting to 8500 rpm to shut it off.

 

to clarify set the rpm to 8500 to disable the blinking red shift light. the letters "REV" in orange are always on.

 

You can imagine why this is so. You'd be hard-pressed to read "REV" if it was only lit when the shift-indicator flashes. Likewise, when you see the red light you're not likely to be able to give it much attention. But it's easy to understand a flashing red light under a "REV" icon.
