Not sure about Canada............

I'm not aware of the laws in Canada but how can they
write you a ticket for running a yellow light....was it
red at any point thru the intersection? Tell them there was someone on your a** and if you had slamed on the binders they would have surely hit you. The tint ticket you'll just have to eat....sorry
bout your fun weekend!

Nope turned yellow as i was about to enter the intersection, I never saw it turn red, wasnt speediing either. My personal opinion is that the cop was teaching the rookie with him how to write tickets...younger guy in red sports car looked like a perfect target for him. I will take both tickets down to the courthouse and see what the DA has to say about them...I personally think they should both be tossed out, and actually the cop driving shoudl be assesed 2 legit tix himself, one for being in the intersection turning left while light is yellow, and second for spinning a U-turn in an intersection without emergency lights on. (Both legit infractions)
I have never fought a ticket in my life before, but these two really were bogus and I plan on fighting them.
I think I will give it a week for my blood pressure to come down a bit and then go in and discuss these while I am calm.
I will keep you posted on all the outcomes...

I just got contacted by an adjuster from the city. They are looking into the pothole incident. I sent them a written statement, pictures of rims and of the pothole itself... I also included an estimate for teh rim repair, alignment, etc. Should be a few weeks before they get back to me with a completed investigation.
Will keep you posted.

I just got the rim back...$200 to fix the damage, Have not heard from adjuster as of yet.
Neither of the tix have been turned in yet by the officers, so therefore I cannot go in and talk to DA until they turned in. They have until Oct 25th to turn them in.

if you file a police report and take pics of the rim damage and pics of teh pothole, your insurance will take the city to court and you will get your deductible back. its happened to me and my buddies a few times, we won every time...

Hmm never thought of that route. I contacted the city directly and am trying to get re imbursed. I have submitted pics and spoken to their adjuster, and am now simply waiting until they investigate/process the claim, should be a few weeks until i find out more info.

Here are some updates..I still havnt heard from the city about the rim reimbursement, should be in the next 2 weeks though.
I did go in to see the D.A. though. I got the tint ticket thrown out and the yellow light ticket reduced to just a fine with no demerits. pretty good deal I guess.
What a pain in the *** this crap has been though....and still not done with it yet either.
