What a crappy weekend with the G

Hey guys,
Have to Vent a bit so I will apologize first...

Friday night (after dark) I am on my way to hockey and I hit a pothole that is about 4 feet long, 2 feet wide and about 6" deep. This manages to bend the hell out of my front right rim, and ruins the tire. I manage to limp to a gas station and park it there over night. I get a buddy to pick me up and I make it to hockey, where I manage to break a $250 graphite stick.

All I did Saturday was bitch and complain about the night before, so having fun was not really an option...

Sunday I am starting to feel a little better, figured it coulda been worse. I am drining up to my parents place for dinner and I get pulled over by the cops for get this..."Failing to stop at a yellow light", and he also gives me a "window tint" ticket(I have 35% all around, it not even fricken dark, and it was sunny out when i was pulled over, so i am positive that the cop could see me)...

What the Fukc!!!

I was driving through the intersection and the light turned yellow (if i would have hammered the brakes hard I would have most likely stopped in the intersection) so i proceeded to go through...wasnt speeding or anything. Every driver does this 3 times a fricken day...Dont get me wrong i have run a "late yellow" but this was not one of them..total bogus. When he pulled me over he had a young cop in the passenger seat, probably a trainee or rookie, and that is why i think i got the tint ticket....junior was learning how to write them...i was watching in my mirror and it seemed to me that the old guy was teaching junior how to do it...

Total BS, I will be visiting the District Attorney ASAP to get these thrown out hopefully...

Any one try to fight a tint ticket? How can they inforce this law only when they please?? There are a ton of vehicles with tinted windows around here. I personally have had tinted windows on all my cars for over 10 yrs, never had a problem. (been pulled over many times)
Sorry about the venting guys...JUST PISSED!!!

i feel for ya man...i hope u can resolve your issues.

as for the ticket, i'm not too sure how canada law works, but i wouldn't count on the tint ticket disappearing. it's always the cops word over yours. plus, a tint is a tint. if it's against the law, they CAN get u for it. as for the yellow light, that's sketchy dude. still your word against the cops so that still might be hard to exonerate yourself. g'luck to ya tho man dude =)

that damage is not bad - it can be fixed at any decent wheel repair shop. there is no cracking from what i can see, there is no mechanical damage - as in, pieces of metal missing, etc. they will have to heat the rim, right it, and optionally CNC the lip, then paint it.

whether the city/county/state would be liable for the damage is another story altogether.

You are correct...they gave me an estimate of about $100-150cdn to fix the rim, it has been dropped off and should be fixed within a week or 2...Like I said I am waiting for the city to get back to me about compensation.

Has anyone ever tried to fight a tint ticket?? Anyone with good results?

+1......agreed. Go after the city for reimbursement.

.....and the tint...lol, what a joke. I have 35% and it's hardly noticeable.....You shouldn't have difficulty beating that one....

G/L anyway, and here's hoping things improve.....

C.
