Looks good, I don't think it would look good on DG though

Hmmm, I don't know? I think anytime you give a vehicle a more monochromatic look, it adds a bit of "sportyness" to it?

Three people from this forum have contacted me and will be sending me their grills. I hope they're not all black G owners, this way we'll be able to see the end results.

Re: Coupe Grill Alternative

they remind me of the mercedes grills. It looks very clean, I like it, but too much work. You should black out or smoke ur side markers so it flushes with the rest of ur car.

Re: Coupe Grill Alternative

so if people are sending you their grills are you painting them all black? Or are you going to paint them the color of their cars. I have DG and I would to like to see what options I have on the look of the grill

He said he wasn't going to paint them. He was leaving that up to you.

Yep, no paint - that's up to you. The grill will arrive sanded and ready for paint.

Ducatiguy.....You may like this look with your car (smoked lenses). Again, an amazing job and very clean looking!

Note: front spoiler is not painted yet and grill is just "sitting" in it's location.
Edited by DoingOK on 10/22/03 06:55 AM.

Re: Coupe Grill Alternative

Yea, I've looked into smoking out the front corner lenses. I know they have a spary paint you can use that will tint it. Instead I'm working on making a pair of lens and headlight covers. A friend of mine owns a plastic molding company, but he said he needs the actualy headlights and the lens for about a week to do this. I haven't had the time to remove them and get them to him. He wants to mold a pair right on them. Kind of like the ones they sell for 350Z.

As for the emblem, if you open your hood and reach in on the inside of the front grill, you can remove the front Infiniti emblem by snapping it out. In doing so, you get an ugly little gap right in the middle of the grill. A real eye sore. That gap is what I have eliminated.

You can opt to get your grill rechromed after I customize it instead of painting, but that may require additional prep that would be beyond me. Look into and let us know.

What friend? What are you talking about?

I haven't looked at the sedan grill up close. If you're in the NYC area, I'll take a look at it and see what I can do....

Re: Coupe Grill Alternative

Ohhhh I got ya nutty... ;-)

He wants to make headlight covers that will fit flush down on the lights and give them a cut out look. You'll need to paint them to match the color of your car. They do have em for the 350Z but not for G yet.

I know I'm a little late to the topic, but damn ducati, that really does look nice. I just saw your reply last night for another thread and noticed your grill. Nice job. I had no idea it was cutom, although I did think it looked rather unique. I must give you praise, I don't like any of the aftermarket grills out there, but your grill is definitely impressive!
AWESOME JOB!
