do g35 have problems
Re: do g35 have problems
If you're concerned about problems, an Audi is the last thing you want. Out of the luxury manufacturers, they have to be the worst in reliability by far.
The G has some minor nags but no major problems except a manual transmission grinding issue that has been plaguing some earlier production coupes.

Re: do g35 have problems
Oh man Mani you took the words right out of my mouth! My uncle just picked up a silver Audi TT and he's had it for about 2 months. In those two months, the cars been back to service 4 times for the folliwng: faulty top hinge (locked up on him once), interior dash lights went out on him one evening and never turned back on (not fuse related), faulty fuel gauge (would not show full when the tank was in fact full), and lastly something about a safety recall that had to do with his seats.
He's just about had it with the car! It's a funky car, but if I'm gonna dump that kind of $$$ into a car, I don't want to see the service people, unless it's for routine maintence.....
Audi's have improved over the years, but bottom line, the stats and reviews don't lie. If you do your homework (simple 2min search on the Net) you'll see Audi doesn't have what I would call a positive track history.
They are however IMO starting to design and build cooler and better cars, but if its reliability you want, you may want to look elsewhere... like for example Infiniti.....

Re: do g35 have problems
I haven't had my car for long, maybe like a month or so, but so far so good. No problems what so ever. The G is a great car.
As for the Audi, my buddy has an A4 and he loves it. He hasn't had any problems either.
I think either way you can't really go all that wrong.

Re: do g35 have problems
Good that you ask or S4 would be the last car you ever buy. A pretty good car but with too many problems, just like a Mercedes. So be realisitc Bro and spend your money wisely. Save the German cars for the 2nd car purchase when you already have a reliable ride. If you already have a Nissan, Toyota, or Honda in your garage as your primary transportation, S4 is definitely the way to go. A flashy weekend ride. My G serves both funciton since my E is neither a primary nor a secondary ride. It's just dead, rotting and decaying in the garage. If you really want the S4, be sure to get it from the dealer with plenty of extended warranty. Check to see if all window regulators have been upgraded to new parts, 'cause you don't want your windows to fall down in the middle of a long drive. Most importantly, check out the engine while it's running to see if harmonic balancer is still in good shape or it's gonna cost you an arm and leg once it breaks off.
Re: do g35 have problems
It's interesting to see the priorities of the two companies. Audi clearly goes all out on the PERCIEVED quality - you get really nice dash, interior materials, etc. but then they go cheap on the parts that matter like window regulators, relays, some engine parts, etc.
Audi and BMW drivers may complain about the G's cheapish interior materials but Infiniti put the money where it matters and the G is a more reliable car for it.

For what it's worth, my brother had an A4 and then an A6 and had no problems with either one. My other brother just got an A6 and has no problems with it so far either. And I've had no problems with my G coupe so far.
Re: do g35 have problems
Agreed. I have both the A6 and G35C. A6 went back for service once due to Radio issue and a minor sensor issue but that is it. My G has gone back twice for rattles and TSBs. So over all it is about the same. It is all about luck.
Re: do g35 have problems
IMO... Don't tell me you guys like the look of the S4 vs the G... BTW theres a really cool S4 vs M3 video out there if you look for it. It may up and lower ur opinion of the S4. I mention this because the Gcoupe is compared to the M3 is cases so you might think the comparison worthy. The only difference is tht in the video the M3 beats the S4 in the quartermile, but our G's would lose to an S4. And our G's have better handling. Hope you make the right decision...(G forumz here..) No pressure. =P

Re: do g35 have problems
Not to downplay you guys' experiences but for every one of you guys there's someone who has their Audi in the shop more than in their garage (myself included, we had a 5000S back in the day). Ultimately I look to consumer reports and JD power and both are pretty clear that Audis are at the bottom of the luxury marque pack in reliability.

Re: do g35 have problems
Audi is a great car, but a little too many of them give problems. The S4 is an amazing car, though, and I would not hesitate to get one. But the S4 and G35C are two different cars in two different price ranges. If you wanna save your money, have a reliable ride, and a really high coolness factor, go with the G. If you want a GREAT sleeper, German engineering, and 4-doors and a real trunk, go for the S4. =)
Re: do g35 have problems
The problem I'm getting with my G is the girls always askin for rides even when I don't even know them. What I do to fix that problem is call them over to my driver's side window. I roll down the window, they get close and give me their line. In the middle of their sentence, BAP! to the mouth and I book it out of there... Easy fix, should be on the TSB. =P

Re: do g35 have problems
OK, My major problems with the G have been the following...
-Grease streaks on windows
-sunroof wouldn't open
-recall on rear brake sensor
All the problems above were fixed on two seperate visits to the dealer, except for the problems below dealer refuses to accept that they need to be fixed.
-driver side window not retracting down further enough
passenger side window retracts nearly 1 1/2", driver side retracts 1/2".
-drivers seat belt not retracting all the way
-Cheap Wipers

Re: do g35 have problems
Had my car for almost a month...nothing wrong so far except there is one thing that i'm curious about... Don't know how to explain it...I'll try. Here is what happened...I lived in a condo and my car was parked on the third floor. I gotta go thru a couple downhill turns to get out the building and when I was going down and had the wheels turned at an angle, I had to give a little brake to slow down. And there will always be this rubbing kinda sound like the pad is rubbing hard against the rotor or something and u can really feel it. It never happens when im making turns while braking on the regular street. So I assume it only happens when I'm going downhill in my parking lot. Any of you have experienced such thing?
