Re: Plugs

RaysG35, One reason the front 2 plugs may be more sooted or oily is that the stock plenum is restrictive to air flow to those 2 cylinders probably causing a rich mixture. I've read that the front 2 are down 30% from what they should be. With the Crawford Plenum they're down only 5%.
If this is true (and it seems to have some truth by looking at the stock plenum) then the front 2 plugs would foul easier.
Like I said it's from what I've read about it and I have no proof other than what I've seen of the stock plenum.

Re: Plugs

Why change the grill - becouse it sets your G apart from the rest. Why put a CAI - becouse it can add some ponies and it sounds sweet. Dual exhaust - once again adds ponies and it sounds sweet, not to mention looks pretty cool too - and the list goes on....

So I simply asked why did you go with Iridium plugs, and you gave no answer other than you wanted too...

Don't get offended, just thought you may have some logic behind it, becouse it just didn't make sense to me, and the way I see it, many others here...

Lastly, you failed to answer two questions of mine, how much did you pay for your plugs and how many miles did you have on your G at the time you changed it.

Re: Plugs

ducatiguy,
I changed to iridium because I have had really good results with them. Better MPG mainly. I made my statements to make a point, in which we agree. I like what you did to your grill and I have the other mods mentioned, for the reasons you stated.
To answer your question, the plugs were $7.63 each and I have 12k miles on the car.

Re: Plugs

Ray - I will likely change my plugs when I hit 50K. I don't and never have believed all the 100K hype for platinum plugs - they may work that long, but whether they are working as well as at 5K is another story. At any rate - I too prefer the iridium plugs. Do you have or could you post the NGK part # - I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
