Before my G35 Coupe... this was my pride and joy

www.sounddomain.com/id/ken94

As much as I'm in love with my G35.. it's hard to forget the sentimental value of a car that I spent 5 years building. Sucks even more to hear the new owner drives the Prelude like it was being filmed on FAST & FURIOUS. =(

I know how you feel. I love my new car but I really miss my 300ZXTT after 7 years of setting it up. The one thing I'm glad is that I don't think it's in the same city where I live. So I won't hear about it of see it driven by anyone else...

I'm happy to say I don't miss my '95 BMW 325is 5sp/sport for a second, as great a car as it was. My G35C/6MT/Nav/aero simply blows it away in every single area.

Had a civic 4 door all doped out too. Spent countless hours on the system, cleaning the chrome 17's, detailing the engine bay, modifying endlessly. But it was broken into 4 times, lost 2 expensive audio systems and one time the car was stolen at a club in LA. I don't miss my green civic at all.

Re: Before my G35 Coupe... this was my pride and joy

Yeah I've been noticing that. I never was a big Nissan fan and I always liked the reliability of Honda. But ever since they shut down the Prelude they haven't made anything I really want. Accord V6 is nice but still it's an Accord. The Acura division is okay but the Legend always seemed to be for the baby boomer crowd and the RSX was too similar to the Celica IMO. The G came out at the right time to get my money........

Re: Before my G35 Coupe... this was my pride and joy

I've had some nice rides b4 my G's none quite as good by any means, but they all had a place in my heart. I seem to get attached to my rides in some way or another weather they're the dregs of the street like my '77 Pontiac Phoenix (6 cyl beater) or in later years the better handling and powered rides like my Corolla GTS (an early rear drive) or even newer Mustang GT's.
I love the ease and thrill of driving my G's, but what I miss the most is the sheer guttural torque of the older torque monsters born in the 50's and 60's. There's nothing quite like them and in some ways I'm jealous of some of our members who have big block monsters like a Buick Stage IV, a Buick GNX, or a Chevelle SS BB. I also admire them for keeping them alive 'till now. It's not a cheap hobby.
The drags like the Indy Nationals in early September are especially enjoyable. There's many a big block to reminisce about there.
My G is like nothing else I've owned b4-- It combines good handling, power, comfort, luxury and mixes in a good portion of eye candy. It far surpasses the Ford Contour I had a couple years back.

I'm still sniffing over the selling of my '91 Eagle Talon TSi All-Wheel-Drive. I bought it in 1993 and sold it just recently. Lots of mods. I will miss it - - Sniff - -

Not all former ricers!
My former car...'00 firebird formula. A 330hp (slightly modified) piece of junk.
I'm still a little disgruntaled over GM quality control! Had some crazy times with her though....

Re: Before my G35 Coupe... this was my pride and joy

I had a '76 pontiac ventura here...same as the phoenix but less "luxurious" I think. I had the 110hp olds v8 though...who-hoo!! And the handling...just amazing...

Hey, I had 1998 Four Door Honda Accord EX. It was loaded with Rims, Body Kit, HID's, TV, PLaystation II, Rockford Fosgate, and JL AUdio W7. I miss that car soo much sometimes it's not even funny. I'll never be attached to my G as I was wit that car

Re: Before my G35 Coupe... this was my pride and joy

Justme97, I hear you on the Ventura, in their time they were a cheap and very popular ride. I still see a few around here even now 'wallowing' around my streets. I generally give them a wide birth. LOL)
Woohoo-- a 110 h/p V-8, lol, at least yours had some torque. The only thing my 75 hp chevy 6 had was smooooooothness.
It got me to work and back thru a couple of winters back in the 70's, up here in the 'Tundra'. lol
I loved that POS, not sure why but I did. Maybe cuz it never let me down..........

BTW- nice 'bird'. I know by today's standards they're not much anymore, but I've always had a soft spot for the pony cars. They've been around a while and will be around for a while longer.......

Re: Before my G35 Coupe... this was my pride and joy

i had a prelude too... rims, integrated phone, the works. i was sad to give someone else the keys, but extremely happy to get the ones for my G (although the keys/keyfob remind me of my prelude's).
