window prob.

The electric passenger window rolls itself down half way when i try to close it from either drivers or passenger door. I have to keep it closed by closing it on the drivers side and when its fully up turn on the child tamper switch so it stays up, which obviously cuts the power off to that window. I realise its a safety thing built in but what do you think is causing it to malfunction. Is it controlled by some kind of sensor or is it controlled by like a temperature thing and what does it safeguard against.
Its not a big issue but its getting kinda annoying.

when u take off the first layer of the doors (3 screws - 2 on the handle and 1 behind the latch) there is a sticker that can just be peeled back to uncover the reset button. look in the middle of the aluminum plating there will be 3 gold screws which actually hold the actuator in place. IIRC the black sticker in the middle of those can be peeled back and u will see a rubber button. do the reset from that link should only take ya 10minutes. good luck

ukgt, if what ggong said doesn't correct the problem, take it back to the dealer if its under warranty.

I had the same failure with my drivers side window and they replaced the motor under warranty.

Hope all work out for you as well.

Actually, dont even bother with all that work in resetting it yourself. I found that once the motor starts doing that, it means its going bad.

This happened to both of my windows. Dealer reset both of them. Was fine for a month. Then passengers window just died. No motion at all.

Dealer replaced both motors.

Started happening again. Dealer replaced motors again.

On my third set of motors and hopefully my last.
