M1 5W30 as well.

Every 3750 I change the filter and top it off. Oil and filter changes at 7500.

It may be overkill for synthetic, but I'm comfortable with it.

I do the same drill at 3000/6000 for my new Ram Hemi p/u and my '93 Corrado. Just had the oil pan off the VW and not a speck of sludge. The parts looked clean and shiny, even after 113K miles.

M1 15W50 in my '89 911 and it's going strong at 136K miles. Even with 5-6 track events a year, the motor is in great shape.

Amsoil Series 2000 0w30
This oil is probably the best there is.
Check out the site. I had to order mine. www.amsoil.com/storefront/tso.aspx Another intresting thing is that if you like extra protection for your engine, there is a filter made by mobil 1 that is about 2x the size of our filters in diameter that fits right on. If you guys are intrested i'l look at the box when i get home and get the model #. I think its M1-105.

Mobil 1 10w-30. It's hot in Texas so I go little thicker. Switched to Syn at 1500 miles.

I'll take a pic of the larger mobil 1 filter when i get home tonight. Discount Auto Parts had to order it for me. It only took them 1 day. The only reason I found out about this was that...I just bought my coupe (had 6MT sedan) and wanted to put fresh Amsoil in...got under the car and saw this huge oil filter. I say huge because it is much larger than our standard size one. Easy to see that it would have much more filtering media. Cheap and easy for added protection.

The difference is probably negligible, but it does take longer for large filters to fill up, and give you flow vs. smaller ones.
But larger ones (providing they fit ok) will offer a bit more cooling because of the larger surface area. Everything is a trade off, what else is new?

Currently using..............

I switched to Mobil 1 when my G only had 780 miles
on the clock. I use K&N filters and change oil and
filter every 2K miles. Yea, I know "overkill" but it's
what I do!

For those of you who wanted to know...it is the M1-105 by Mobil1 (I just checked)...same height as stock but larger diameter...fits just as good as stock...tried to attach a pic but got an error message and gave up...looks like any other black oil filter you've ever seen
