I'm pulling the motor and swapping it myself in the hatch, but its in rialto at my girls house so i don't get to go out there as much as i would like, cuz of work. hopefully i can finish this weekend.
but once I pull the motor and swap it out, i plan on selling it and getting a 240 or 86ish corolla, something else to drive and beat up. Now that I've experience rear wheel drive i get bored driving my civic.

Seriously, what's the point of buying a car if you don't want to drive it? I can understand if you already have a beater (truck, suv, minivan, insert less fun car to drive here) and have some extra cash and buy something cool just to have fun on the weekends. But I don't get this whole "saving miles" stuff. Maybe I'm a bit extreme, but I just broke 20K on my 2006 over the weekend. It was one of the first off the truck, but still, its a lot of miles I know. But I bought it, its mine, don't intend to sell it (ever really, but I know things change), so I'm gonna keep driving it. I suggest you do the same, unless you're talking about a lease in which case that's just no fun at all...

I drive about the same distance as you, it really does add up which means mre frequent oil changes and services. I have a 2002 jeep wrangler I drive at least once a week and during the rainy season. It saves miles, plus I can park wherever I want! I love the freedom of parking anywhere and not worrying about it. It's not a beater, but because of the lift kit and big tires most cars can't door ding it. It might make more sence to get something a little more economical, you never know when the oil companies will decide were not paying enough for fuel again and give us a little hike. The jeep doesn't get any better mileage that the G because of the tires and lift. Now that fuel has dropped you might be able to get a better deal on an economy car.

I bought a beater. $2000 for my father's 97 Grand Prix. It does a lot of my daily commuting, and all of the driving during winter.
I have 19800 miles on my 04, that I bought in May of 04.
I miss driving the G in the winter, but I know it will last a lot longer not going through MI winters

Geez35,
I dunno bout you... but thats what comes with the purchase... special tires,
premium gas, regular oil changes, and with that you get to DRIVE your car.
Mine gets driven in rain ,sleet, snow, summer heat... botttom line, I bought mine to drive it.. I do over a hundred miles a day. and have yet to regret it
my G purchase...

I was talking to someone (female) about the same thing the other day and what she said was right. As long as you plan on keeping the car and do your regular service why save the miles. I just got mine in May and have 7,000 mile on it. I keep think that I should cut back but why bother.. I drive my "G" everywhere...
