I had two cute girls actually come up to me as I was getting into my G at a mall parking garage and ask if they could check out the interior. Since the mall was closing, they had been waiting to see if the owner would stop by to pick it up. After pocketing my keys, I gladly stood aside and offered them a seat. Much gushing about the car commenced, and now one of them is determined to get a black G like mine. How much money is that moment worth? If only I was about 7 years younger. I've had this car since January, and average about two compliments from strangers per month. I doubt I'd get even one compliment from a stranger if I drove a BMW (except maybe from another BMW driver).

What also amazes me is how poorly recognized the Infiniti logo is. No wonder they spell out their name on all their cars. Since I've had the G, I've heard it misidentified as a:

Mercedes-Benz
"Porsche Boxster Coupe"
"that new Cadillac"
Mini Cooper (the hell??)

You can't overestimate how huge this car has been for Infiniti.

I always get this.. It seems most people want to talk when im driving lol.. I'll look over and they will be like WOW how much is one of those, WOW that looks sooo much better then a 350z... Girls are always looking but with my GF sitting next to me Im 22 years old so high school was that far away.. I got to say I love seeing people around that i went to school with that i dont realy talk to anymore.. Iv only seen a few but when I do they are normally like WTF what do you do to afford that...

Like just the other day my friend is going out with one of my old friends from high school and I havent seen here since 11th grade.. I passed her house as she lives near by and she was outside and waved my down.. Plus her mom was outside lol.. They ran up to the car and after the what have you been up too's stoped they were like niiice car you in the big time now.. Then the infamous how do you afford this.. then before I knew it she was in my car saying lets goooo!!! I was like sure, and off we went... She was soooo impressed.. Then she started playing with bottons with navi, radio, a/c.... Then the next day my friend comes over saying WTF.. She dumped me for no reason... I was like what did she say... He was like nothing and that it not working out... I wonder if it has to do with that he drives a dump druck for a living and drives around a Ford Touraus

I love the reactions. It is great. When I was working in Downtown Indy, I would free car washes and waxes from the garage attendant because he liked my car so much. He was a detailer on the side and did many cars in the garage.

People always wave at me too. Seems a little weird, but it is cool.

My first compliment was within 5 mins of driving the car. When I drove the car off the dealers parking lot there was some people looking at some infiniti's and once they heard the sound of the G turn on and me taking off, I looked in my rear view and saw them cheering. Sounds kinda cheesy but for a second there I felt like i was in a movie or something, it still felt good though. Then 2 hours after that I went to go rent a movie with my girl and some guy was like, nice car. Another compliment was at the drive in, I overheard some guy telling his gf that the G is sweet. Man, its barely going to be 2 weeks that I had my G, I love it!

You reminded me of the time I took a friend of mine's son (6 yrs old) for a ride and he just absolutely loved the sound of the engine and the jolt he got when I would shift it from first to second at almost redline. He heard the tires chirp and was said, "Was that us?". Cute....
You wonder why us guys grow up and buy machines like this. Its because even when we were young we loved power and speed.

And by the way, I was driving safely with the kid, just some quick accelerating.

G35Coupe B/B 6MT Aero/Premium

I don't own a G yet (hopefully soon) but every time I see one, I can't help but drool.

You know what's funny? I live in Chicago, population over 5 million, and I rarely see G35 Coupes. I see more of the sedan. My drive home is about 20 miles and I'm always on the look out and I can honestly say that I might see 2 or 3 a week.

same here ohgeez... i rarely see a G and if i do, it's a sedan. but whether i see a coupe or sedan, i get a huge grin on my face and wave. usually, they wave back and smile too.

i like the fact there aren't as many Gs here. because people will stop and stare with that "nice car!" or "what car is that?" look. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

So, last friday I am way back to work at lunch when I notice a couple of people in an SUV following me. I put some space between us but they keep catching up to me at the stop lights. Really starting to annoy me! I take off from the light and check the rearview mirror....the passenger is hanging outta the window taking pix of my car with his cell phone. I started laughing so hard I took it easy the rest of the way so they could get a real good look.

we were coming back from this overlook at a state park. In front of us (walking) was a family with a 7-8 year old.. as we rounded the corner, the kid saw the car come into view. He threw up his arms and screamed "whaaaaaaaaa!" really loudly.

I turned to my wife and said "thats how I feel every morning... on the inside." It was pretty funny.

I have a six year old son myself. A week or so into getting the G my sister asked my son which car he liked better, my G or my father's 03 911 Carrera. My son whispers to my sister, "dont tell daddy lolo (his grandfather), but I like my dad's car better".

hehe ... I wasnt there at the time but when I was told about it, it gave me one of those 'that's ma boy' moments =)

Im sure one day he'll learn the difference between a Porsche and an Infiniti but till then i'll let him think what he wants to.

the first night i get my car i drive it home all happy!... right when i pull onto the exit for my house, another car behind me pulls up beside me, rolls down his window, and compliments my car, smiled and gave me a thumbs up... right then i knew i chose the right car and that it would only be the begining of compliements... however, my first compliement was driving off the lot too... some other people were checking out other inifinitis and once i pulled my ride out the driveway they all turned heads till i was out of view... when i passed them i also heared one say "Now that car is nice"

ahh.. all good memories.. my coupe got attention just on the drive home from the dealership, just like many of you..

there were these two teens in a brand new volvo s40 and they kept tailing me.. i was kinda pissed, but i jus let it ride.. when we came to a stop, turned out they were brothers, and one of them jus turned 16.. they were like "dayam, that's a nice car.. i wish i got that one.." everytime i hear that or stories like that, i'm even more proud of my G

im 15 right now and ill get my drivers license soon enough...i will get the 95 accord wagon, while my mom will be drivin around in a black g coupe (hopefully)!! how long does it take for the 6 speed coupes to get delivered (cause she doesnt drive automatics)? i jus cant wait till i get to drive it, just hope i dont crash or stall it to much
