Re: People checking out the G
The G35C 6MT is a difficult car to drive, but you will get the hang of it.
As for attention, I get a lot as well, but I kinda feel like I get it from the wrong people. I'm a youngen (19) and the car gets a ton of looks from guys, young or old. I kinda wish I got more attention from young girls (girls my age), but then again, I don't really use my car to pickup girls so I guess it doesn't matter.
What I have noticed is that most people who actually compliment me on my car don't know what it is...just a little trend I have noticed. =)

I'm in SoCal and I get some good looks:
Friday night I was waiting for my car from the valet at BJs in Woodland Hills. As they pull my car up two girls waiting for their car say "oooooh nice car." Then the guy with his buddy behind them talk about how nice it is to each other. I was feeling kind of cocky and silly so I say kind of loud. "damn, that's a bad a$$ car. I wonder what kind it is?" One of the guys say, "That's a G." At that moment I get handed my keys, get in, and drive off. Feels good.

Re: People checking out the G
It's funny; I haven't gotten that many noticeable looks in the first month I've had my G (I guess since I live in south-Florida and fancy cars are common down here, it doesn't phase many people). However, I got one tonight when I was just driving up to a light and I notice this Corolla starting to whip around and pass me in the right (right-turn only) lane. I figured it was some smart-@ss trying to get around me to take the first spot at the light, but once it got beside me, it just stayed there. When I stopped at the light, I finally noticed a cute blonde looking back from the Corolla's driver seat and checking out the G before she made her turn. Gotta love it! I think I need to go cruising more often.
heh heh.

Re: People checking out the G
The best compliment I got was from a 50-something yr old in a red Ferrari 355 pulling up and asking me how the ride and suspension was. When I told him the ride was pretty stiff, feeling all the bumps on the road but great on cornering, the guy said "awesome, I'm thinking about trading in my wife's boxter for one of these." And we both drove off complimenting each other on our classy rides. Also, looking out into the parking lot at work, I catch numerous cars just pulling up, staring at it, then driving off. I gotta get myself a low key beater car soon.

Please keep posting these stories--I have to live vicariously through you guys. I live in north Mississippi (just across the state line from Memphis). The only vehicles that turn heads around here are pickup trucks and John Deere tractors!

My story is a little different. Last night I went to our partner meeting (CPA, 15 partners, 125 employees, 4 offices) of which I am the only partner in my office. After the meeting I'm walking to my car and everyone is asking me what it is...walking around...getting in it. The managing partner comes over, takes a look and says "We must be paying you too damn much!" ..half joking but half serious. I just casually stated that it was much less than the fully loaded 4Runner I had been driving. This isn't the first time I've found myself downplaying the expensive look of this car. Clients may think I'm charging them too much! It's hard to believe I actually sometimes feel guilty in my new G. Anyway, everyone I have spoken to has absolutely loved the looks of the G.

I was in a bad mood the other day drove to the bank. And this dude in a $200K cl65 amg steps out of his car and asks me if it's stick. I said I wish. He proceeded to go car looks sick. I'm thinking in my head want to trade? lol Changed my mood into a better one.
But getting looks and compliments are always nice. Everywhere I drive I try to glance at people and see everyone on the block staring as I roll by. Definitely stands out when modded nicely.
