Plenum Spacer Owners! Question for you!
Hey guys, I just installed my 5/16 spacer yesterday. I noticed 2 things, just curious if this is occuring for anyone else. Firstly, when I start the car, the rpms jump to 2k, I dont think it used to do this before, im guessing it has something to do with more air/fuel or something. Just makin sure thats regular. Also, I noticed that my car warms up a hell of a lot faster now? Is that because of the coolant cutoff valve or? I dont quite understand what the cutoff valve does and why it should be closed... thanks for any help clearing this up! Hopefully these things are normal.
I still havnt installed the coolent valve on mine i have it laying around somewhere. Was it a pain to install? what is the point BTW??? i didnt install it cause it made no sense to me....

ummm...... my buddy tried to explain it to me. Correct me if im wrong, but usually it is closed so the coolant doesnt flow, therefor the coolant isnt heated up more by the throttle body.. I dont quite understand it myself. But, if the throttle body is frozen then you open the valve so the coolant can flow and heat up the throttle body.
the install is ez, i used some clamp pliers to clamp down the ends of the hose(wasnt sure if coolant would come out) put some silicon tape on each copper end piece and screwed them into the valve, then, cut a section of hose out, put on the little metal hose pinch things on each end, stuff the copper ends into the hose and your done.

It specifically states in the Motordyne instructions that YOU DO NOT have to reset the ECU if you installed it properly!!! The only reason you might need to reset it is if you happened to mess with the butterfly in the throttle body. Then you would need to do a throttle position ECU reset.
With that being said, I didn't reset my ECU either.
I installed the spacer this weekend, along with the Stillen Z-Tube, and I feel a slight difference. The car seems to be a tad louder (nothing obtrusive) from the intake side, a small perceived change in the exhaust note, and the car seems to pull a bit harder above 3500-4000 RPM. I drove the car on about a 70 mile round trip, mostly highway, and accellerated hard from the tolls. This is where I felt the slight perceived harder pull.

this is why you should of bought the copper iso thermal with the spacer. You will not need to mess with switching the valve between the hot and cold months.. just get in and enjoy the drive.
Car starts and runs around 2000 then gets down to .25 very very low idle..
read the

web sight. they will explain everything in detail and when you will need to move your valve to open.
