the only sealed tranz that nissan/infiniti makes to my knowledge is the C.V.T. used in muranos and new max,altima,versa.. follow the manufact. recomendatons if u can it will help if u ever have an issue for warranty. believe me i work for NISSAN they change all j / k / d matic fluids.. the C.V.T fluid is the only one not changed before 100k as far as i know..

i hope this helps

Thanks for the info everyone, looks like the service guy is being lazy...

Anyway, three questions...

1. Never changed the ATF fluid, any how-to's on that (the ESM is not very helpful)

2. How much is J-Matic and how much do I need? I will probably do a flush.

3. I have an open Diff, do I still need to change the differential fluid?

What do you mean by open differential? Is there a leak? Or the cover open?
Take the cover off reseal and refill simple.

I think you'll find that the whole system contains 10.875 U.S. quarts of 'Nissan J-fluid'.

yes, but only 4 qt will come out of the drain pan. I am not talking about a flush. I have changed it 3 times so I know.

usually techs,,.will always get 4 qt for fast service.. if your going to try to serv. the entire tranz ,,rebember u wont get all the fluid from the converter.. most people service trans every 30k to 35k to keep rejuvinating the fluid ..be sure to use genuine nissan/infi fluids just incase u have a problem in the future... ther are other syn fluids that meet or exceed our specs but be carefull...@@@@@ J matic fluid 999mp-mtj00p $ BETWEEN $9.15-$16.50 QT
