I’m not really looking for a supercharger and I have heard that these require more maintenance than turbos. They also cost more than $3-4K. I agree with Nismo G, I like the blow off more. I would never consider NOS, ever.

GTT, this is a funny invention. I have seen it before. I don’t think that the electric motor would be able to handle the air needed for 7,000 higher revving. It might give you the most horse power at 1000 rpms for your buck. Lol.

I don’t know why I am not happy with my G. I’m coming from a Z4(expensive parts) which I had for 32+ months and racked 71k on her. The G handles ok. It could stick more in corners. It is faster and nicer than most other cars on the road. It provides above average A to B. However, I just feel silly when a Saturn eco-tech or even an SE-R (little brother) can spank you. Now, I am not one to mod big time. My budget to mod is limited which could make it useless all together. I would rather buy a different car. 2003 540i Sport is on my radar.

With all things posted, if I were to mod. What do you guys think of a cam upgrade, free flow catalytic converter and sway-bars. I currently have a B&B cat-back. These should be a solid 20whp and better cornering. It should also be under $1.5k.

Im sure you could buy a turbo kit and just run a smaller turbo in the car.....you would just have to research it a little bit. I was thinking of buying the turbo kit and just running a small turbo so i could have around 360HP and then if i wanted to i could replace the turbo with some kind of monster.....

It is like the opposite of a blow off idk how it works really, its not called a blow off valve but it gives you some kind of reverse noise.

However, I would be interested in $3,000+ for 340hp turbo kit. Obviously, the kit would use smaller turbos, have lower boost limits, be softer on the engine and so on and so forth. I am kind of tired of getting smoked by eco-techs and having VW jettas on my bumper. Is this possible to do? John
1- the cheapest turbo kit i've seen is $5000 plus.for less you should look at supercharger.
2- when you talk about going from 400hp + to 340hp...the different is in the turbo itself which isn't much, you still need everything else to make it a complete kit.another word make it runs. so i don't see $6000 shink down to $3000
3- if you worry about it could blow your motor...you should not consider turbos...seriously.
4- the fact is even if you have 400hp,there're still some civics and jettas outthere capable of smokes you.
good luck

tru, but i think he has his mind set on a turbo not a super charger and whats wrong with like 350HP?? Its not possible with NA mods unless you get a whole rebuilt motor and that cost twice what a turbo does...i do agree that he will not find a cheap turbo kit, but i do think 350HP is a reasonable amount of power
