Ive had my G for about 6 months now and i dont know if im feeling it anymore. To be honest i never thought id say this but i dont think i want to drive standard anymore. Ive always raced cars since my first car and although its an adrenaline rush and fun, its somewhat imature and unsafe. My ? now is do u think a 2005 Mercedes C55 AMG is an upgrade or downgrade from our cars? price is not much a of huge difference, but its more of a sedan.(although it does have over 380hp ))) id obviously get some nice 19's or 20" black wheels with nice chrome lip and tint the windows. Id rather just chill and relax in a nice car then race around everywhere.. and owning a MT performance sports car( i wouldnt own a sports car that was auto anyways) i always find myself accelerating fast and banging gears and its getting old. Dont get me wrong i love the G, its just im wayy to tempted to drive this thing like i stole it. lol tell me what u guys think? thanks

I forgot which thread, but a C55 amg owner bought the 07 sedan and said that the acceleration was around the same and handling is, of course, much better compared to the C55 amg. Overall, from what i remember from that thread, the owner of the AMG was really happy with the purchase of the 07 sedan. Hope this helped

 

well somewhat but myself i cant stand the sedans bodystyilng.. im not really looking for performance persae, rather the style and looks and luxury status. i really like these biut they def need some rims and a slight drop and thats about it.

 

c55 will kill any g35... coupe or sedan, 07 or earlier

 

The power is def a plus. but im just curious if you guys think it would be an overall upgrade or not..

 

Oh, the fastest time from a magazine for the C55 AMG is 0-60 in 4.9 sec. Now, when compared to the last gen G35, it would be a great upgrade, but when compared to the 07 sedan, which is running about 5.2 from 0-60, it wouldn't be much of an upgrade IMO. Ever considered the M5, CLS 55 AMG or the CL550? or they are way out of your price range?

If i had the choice... the SL55 or SL65, or even the Sl500-550 would be my first choice but we're talking well over 100k. im only considering this cause its only about $5k more then my car. I just get bored with cars quickly and realizing the amount of money i want to put into y G ie: (exhaust/turbo/wheels/etc!) gonna be well over 10 grand that i do not want to spend.. and i will rarely visit the track. it was imprtant to me 5 years ago to have the fastest sickest car around.. but i feel i have grown up and now i just want to have a sick luxury car that looks great, throw some wheels and little things and call it a day! With this car i feel i can do that.. not with my G.

 

Definately an upgrade. The C55 amg is very nice.

 

the C55 is def an upgrade but the thing that sucks about it is its only got a quad exhaust to really show you the difference between a c230 and a C55. Other than that no one will really notice its a C55 from the get-go (basically not a eye catcher for the ladies) The G is def more refined and has more beauty and class to pull its weight.

 

C55 AMG for sure. I love that car. Im hoping that will be my next car, either that or the Porsche CaymanS

 

Why not a SMG M3...C55 is ok imo but C-classes don't drive that well. I say go E55 or go home.

according to your post u are probly at the stage I am in ....to old to be street racing these young bucks & too young to drive a Cadillac!! I love power & it seems u do also, getting any AMG package benz or M package BM, you will still race just becuz of the power ....just keep it real with yourself as men we will always be tempted to race no matter how old or young we are, I have street raced in my aunts Windstar b4 funny thing is I won LOL

I dont know how many of u have ever sat in a C class benz but it has as much space as a 4-door civic.
the car is totally built for women or man 5' 7" & under
Im only 5'10" & I couldnt own a 4-door car that small at least in a small coupe or roadster u have leg room for your nuts to breathe!!

everyone looks for different things in a vehicle

If a powerfull sedan is at the top of you list then the C55 is an upgrade ...but may i suggest E55, M5, M45, 545, E500, E550, or even the 07 G35 sedan 306hp is nice

If being comfortable plays a big part in your decision then the C55 is a downgrade & may I suggest the same vehicles above

 

the c55 will smoke the G, but youll lose reliability =/

 

Go M3 or even the 335i. I think MB is ghey.
