The C55 AMG is a very nice car. I would go for it.

 

Ladies like BMW better. Its a fact.

 

benz is ****. i drove a cls500 yesterday and benz drives like total ****, whoever owns a benz just owns it as a status symbol..the cars are boring and slow to drive. i had more fun in my G than id ever have in the CLS and thats an 80000 dollar car..so if youre going to trade it in for a C-CLASS you souldnt belong to the forum

 

C55 will be an upgrade.. IMO I feel more comfortable in a G tho.. a Benz is a little scary to drive... as you do not feel/hear feedback from the car until its at its limit. The downside to the C55 is that you're still stuck on 225 tires for the front and 245s for the rear... Your brake job will run you close to 1,000 for rotors + pads if done at a dealer.. Also benz warranty is 4 year or 50k... so its not too much =\

IMO dont get it.. the C55 will be out ran (in its class) VERY soon as benz is using their new 6.3 N/A motors and the guys at BMW are playing with turbos not the mention theres a whole list of cars that are due to redesign (M3, G35, C-Class, E-Class, etc..) Also your list of MODs will be shortened with the C55 but the price will increase...

Just saying this cause I work for mercedes as a tech so I know these cars probably better then anyone else on this forum..

also 1vladdy1 i think a CLS500 will smoke us (if not the new CLS550s)... and the CLS sport is one of the better handeling cars i've driven.. the Active Body Control that benz designed is NOT to be messed with at all.. It probably felt slower then the G cause of design/engineering.

If your going to put a fun factor into things.. most of us here will have more fun in a 300wHp CRX w/some stiff suspension at a twistie track then our Gs lol

 

the C55AMG seems to match what youre looking for now....ever thought about the e46 M3 coupe aswell...if the M3 is too boring, there's the M3 Competition Package (ZCP) which is more sportier....

 

i've driven the C55 and its ALOT faster, all around. Problem is, the C63 will be out pretty soon with hp #'s in the upper 4's i think?

 

C55 is nice and it's def. NOT a down grade. however, MB dont get real and serious until u get into the E class. C class is never really all that. that segment belongs to BMW 3 series and the likes (infiniti, lexus.. etc). BM is better @ building high price, high class veh. they are just not very good at the entry level lux ompact sedans.

may i suggest an Audi S4? im not a huge fan of audies, but they do build some nice cars.. got that AWD if u need it..

from ur post tho, sounds like u want something fast but more mature. i think Infiniti M class is def. something to consider. BMW 550I? MB E500?
BMW M3 is def. an awsome choice as well or the new 335i..

I know what you're talking about....ever since my first car i've been racing cars with mods. Now i'm 23 with a moded G35c, but I've kind of lost the need to race my way to every location, let alone a car that pulls up to my right. (although there are those rare occasions)

Regardless, i would honestly go with something less sporty. I say this b/c if you drive around in a c55 amg, every young wise-*** will try to race you, and there will be times you will give in. Also, simply having a sports car will naturally incline u to drive like u are driving to ur friendly neighborhood chop-shop. I say go with something that leans more toward the luxury side rather the sports side (not saying mb is not luxurious, but u know what i mean).

 

are you kidding...a C55 is definitely not in the same class as a G35. you could possibly compare a C320, but the C55 is so much more. it's more in sync with a M3. If you can afford it, go for it. That is one sweet ride.

C55 AMG for sure. But right now I am happy with my coupe, may be in the future I will be consider E55 AMG. But C55 AMG is upper sacle compare to G sedan or coupe for sure.

Don't get the S4 as someone stated above, it's got too much modification that you can do to it and depreciates like a brick. I have an S4 and I've spent almost 20k on mods already...

The C55 is about to be replaced soon so I wouldn't get that. E55 or go home as a few others have mentioned.

I have a M35 sport and test drove a 45. The 45 is nice, but not qhat I would call sporty at all - cross that off your list. I have an S4, sporty and miles faster than a c55 (i have a modified s4), but you'll be more inclined to race it. If you truely want an automatic fast sedan, mercedes is the way to go - but go with the E.

The C55 AMG is definately faster than the next generation G35's (07 Sedan)... but it definately wouldnt smoke it.

Like someone else said, a C55 AMG has basically the exact look of a C230 with the exception of the Exhaust.

Why not get an M3? Those things are beautiful and fast... and is very distinguishable compared to the 325 and 330i [the M3 has that unique wide body, with Quad exhaust ofcourse]

Anyway, goodluck with which ever choice you make.

If your looking for the faster car, get the C55 AMG.

If your looking for styling and looks, with a good combination of sporty performance and luxury, get the 06 G35 coupe HANDS DOWN.
