I need serious help guys* MAINLY F.I. GUYS*... PLEASE!

Okay no flamming... im still somewhat new to the whole infiniti world. Ive owned my 2003 OB Coupe 6mt for about a year now and as ive said in other posts im thinking of going FI. I came from the dsm ( turboed eclipses and talons ) into the infiniti world. I love my car and literally everything about it but just miss the boost lol. I bought my car used with 36,xxx on it and i currently have 52,xxx miles on it. I am HIGHLY thinking of purchasing this kit from a fellow G member

and need your opinions on it guys. I know no one will be able to tell me if it is going to be 100% safe for my car or not but for those who have boosted their cars please any help would be great. Im going to also post this thread on the my350z forum as well. I would love to go with the Vortech s.c but im not a big fan of the whining noise it has... im more the sound of a turbo spooling fan lol. If anyone has pics of their setup and how their fmic looks from the outside with their aftermarket front bumpers and underhood shots THAT WOULD BE AUSOME! Thanks for taking the time to read this and help me out guys!

Kenny

If you do get the turbo, since your car has over 50K miles on it, i'd definitely recommend building the motor just to be safe, even if you are going to run fairly low boost on a single turbo. But with buying the kit and building the motor, plus install and tune... you're lookin at atleast $10k

looks like a good deal, you might wanna find out why TN sent him a new turbo.

that and a utec and you should be good, as long as you stay at stock boost.

you might also wanna upgrade your clutch cause you'll fry it in no time

high mileage just don't mean the engine is bad for F/I. If you are worried, just get your engine compression and leak down test and if the numbers are good, you should be alright to go! If you want to go hardcore, you can do oil analysis.. or you can open up the engine and check but than why wouldn't you build it ? lol
BTW, I have 47k on my car and I have been turboed for 3k and so far no problems. Make sure you take it to a reputable shop!!!

Turbo Charger= "When I build my motor", SuperCharger = "If I build my motor" There are way more rebuilt turbo VQs than Supercharged VQs. Sometimes this is done purposely or sometimes it's the result of breaking something. The question I have for you is how you want your car to behave? The two FI platforms deliver power in very different ways.

True

I say go for the TN Kit. If it is Brand New w/ everything with it that looks like a good price. Just use the money you save for any upgrades you need. Make sure you get a good tune too.

Get your car checked out first. I read of a blown motor with the TN kit that had a good tune so yeahh.... i think you should rebuild that engine to be on the safer side. Spend some money now so you wont have to spend much more in the future

if you want 100% mental assurance your motor is built solid do a long block you can account for all the internals that are taking the extra force. Remember stock internals were meant to run within certain perameters and with the extra force exerted they will wear faster than designed. an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
