Exclamation Holy Crappy Treadlife Batman!

Who holds the world record for treadlife on the Pilot Sports?

Just replaced the rear tires on my 03 6MT this morning - my second replacement in 45K miles! The bill came to $600 with road hazard protection, m&b, etc. I bought the car with ~1800 miles on it, and when I had to replace the tires at ~21K I assumed it was because the first owner had smoked the tires too many times. But I only got 23K miles out of this set, and that was by driving them to the point that you could iron your clothes on them because they're so bald.

So has anybody gone any further than that? Who's got the most mileage on their tires? I was in denial for awhile over the treadlife problem, but now I've moved on to acceptance and am ready to hear from other recovering victims...

Yeah I'm still doing okay on my front tires. I have about 25K on each front tire, but it would have been much longer if I hadn't punctured my right front tire at ~20K and had to replace both. The impression that I've gotten is that you can expect about 2x as much treadlife out of the front tires as the back tires.

Also of note here, I don't track my car or drive it hard enough on a regular enough basis to create this amount of wear (IMO).

Has anyone experienced any problems putting a different brand of tire on the back from the fronts? I'm thinking of BF Goodrich G-Force KDW to replace the rears and leave the fronts as is since they're only about 50%. I have an 04 with 42,000 km or 28,000 mi. The fronts have feathered and make a racket but I'll keep them for a while yet.

You got 23k on a set of tires and you're not happy. The tires on the G35C are high performance and you should expect that they won't last too long. I'm happy if I can get 20k out of any set of tires. Heck, I'm glad to get 10k out of the rears on my NSX. But since I only drive it 3-4k per year they last a while. If you find the tires are expensive, then go with a lower priced tire that can fit your needs. Remember, if you want to play you have to pay.

I bought my car used with 7.5k miles. I just passed the 15k mark yesterday and my rears have less than 10% tread left. The fronts are low too, but probably have 30% tread left. These are the 19" Bridgestone Potenza's. I thought they would last 20k, but I guess not.

I plan on getting the Toyo Proxes T1 (I think that's what they're called)
I was looking at my rear tires tonight and they have like 5% left. These things wear FAST. It wasn't this bad even 2 weeks ago. Damn.

Just curious, wtf are Riken Raptors? If you can afford a G, I figure you can afford a decent tire. Sorry, this made me laugh, although, I may be just ignorant.
