Personally down here in FL i have seen perhaps two kids drive a G, when i say young i mean 18-23 yrs of age... every time i see a G the driver is either a FINE female LOL or a middle age ( 25 yrs and above )or older dude...The G is not a car for everyone, not everyone can afford the Gas, The tires, the mods, blah blah blah...so i kinda disagree that G's are being bought up by younger crowds....The scion, toyota, celica's, mustang's and BMW's are the ones down here being flocked on by teens...I bought my G for 33500 sports package and with all taxes and stuff...and damn is already down to 20K, really sucks, i mean take into consideration that the G is high performing, luxurious, won mad awards for theVQ35 engine for the past three years (Edmunds.com), and looks sexy as hell...i would think a car like that would hold its value longer, and plus as some of you guys say, if its being flocked on by more younger people then the it should be the opposite, the value should hold... Just look at the 05 mustang ( and i bring it up cause i own one) a GT bought 27500K, with now 22K miles still has a resale value of 23500/24000K....now this pisses me off when the mustang does not qualify for the categories the G does....

I wonder about the resale values too.

Last time I checked on MSN auto, they said G35 coupe has the highest resale value of all the coupes in the car market.

I don't really know how they justify that.

For example, my 05 coupe, I bought $33,800 before tax (38k after taxes), I can only sell it for $27k that's a freaking $11k drop.. for one year.

It was a bad decision bought the G coupe new, should've gone for the used ones, if I knew I would be selling it.

Drop in resale def will be based on the release of the new style. For us who know about the new 08 body know the 1st gen shouldn't not command that much money now.

I am thinking about getting a 03 g35 now. The only color i have ever wanted and will buy, will be the Caribbean blue. Anything else on my behlaf would be a waste of money. I own the car for one yr then the new style is released. Which means resale would drop agian. I figure in fall 07 you will find a g35 for ~17k

$4,200 in taxes on a $34K purchase? Man, where do you live? Unless you have really high miles on your car, the price you are quoting is real low. i was considering buying a 997 and took my car to CarMax and they offered me $400 over KBB excellent for my '05 coupe with low miles.

Many of you sound like you've never owned a car before! First year resale takes the biggest hit. As a quick comparison between the G35 coupe and the 330ci 2003 model years. Using Edmunds.com data:

2003 330ci base $35k, trade-in $20,771 = -$14.2k = -40%
2003 G35c base $29k, trade-in $19,840 = -$9.2k = -32%

Of course your actual numbers will vary depending on options, condition, mileage, and area (supply and demand).
