Need help installing Injen

Hey all. I just got my Injen CAI and am gonna try install it by myself. One question tho, do i need to take off the bumper in order to remove the foam filler and the plastic foam retaining frame? If not, whats the best way to do it? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

You Don't need to Remove the Bumper. Just take off the Left front wheel and take off the Bottom Plastic Cover. Oh Yeah DO NOT remove the Plastic Piece & Foam from the Bumper. Just cut off some of the Foam at an Angle so the Filter can fit.

No man you gotta take out the foam piece. The reason is, when you take it out, it gets the maximum amount of air when it is recived. But other than thats its the easiest install. You dont need to diconnect the battery, and you dont need to take out the O2 sensor. leave it plugged in.
Anything else PM ill help you out.

We installed my Injen CAI today. Did not remove or cut the foam. The filter fit is tight and the cars runs great.
Just my $.02

Thx for the input guys!

Well...on the instruction that was given...it says to just remove the foam and leave the retaining frame. So is it better to remove both or just the foam? Would there be any affect on the intake with or without the frame in place?

ok well your suppose to be able to see about 70% of the filter thru the bottom of the front part of the bumber. On the front right. if you see it then your cool. BUt i suggest it be removed.

First off, if you don't remove the foam (or at least cut part of it out) then none of the cold rushing air hitting the front of the car will make it to the filter and you'll end up with LESS airflow than stock.

I have wider-than-stock tires so I had to remove the front left wheel. You only need to remove three screws from the undercover to be able to remove the plastic piece. If you only remove the foam and not the plastic piece then you don't need to do anything to the undercover.

Removing the foam is as easy as grabbing it and working it out with some pulling effort. (see attached photo)

Ok, that's the exact reason why I refused to remove the plastic part and the whole foam block. It makes ZERO sense to expose that filter to direct airflow and wind driven rain. By removing a chunk of the foam and leaving the plastic part in place you will still have a 5"x7" opening that will still pressurize the wheel well with more air than the filter could possibly use. I also sealed off the opening where the pipe ducts into the fender well from above. Zero chance of any heated engine air being powered into the wheel well.
