Hey VQ35, heres the link where I got mine! http://www.rogueengineering.com/Merc...Category_Code= You aren't gonna find a better price sadly, I scoured the net before I ended up just getting it from RE. Cause they were the only ones who still had them for sale, and you know its legit cause its from them! haha But yea its def worth every penny I paid for it.
As for all the other people saying that the short shifter wears out the tranny faster, etc etc.....learn how to drive your car. Even with the new shifter installed I can clutchless shift my car all day and night. Just do what I do and go out driving and learn the mechanics of the car inside and out. It makes the G35 experience that much nicer =]

Def a DIY mod man! It comes with the instructions to do it too! The instructions are for 03-04 model years tho, so you may have to look up how to remove your center console if you have an '06 like me. But besides that, just follow it verbatim and everything will install perfectly fine. I'd say you could do it within an hour or two worth of time granted you have the tools and patience to do it right. My biggest thing that set me back with time was gettin the stock shifter out of the pivot cup. That ball is jammed in there sooo hard i had to use brains instead of brawn to get it out. Just be really really careful with that though cause most of the time the pivot cup will break when you get the stock shifter out. I was fortunate that mine didn't break so I could reuse it again, but if you break it then you can't even put your stock shifter back in. Sooo you won't be driving your car until the new part comes in the mail You can buy the pivot cup from tons of vendors online or members on this forum, very cheap too. So yea good luck with the install when you do it, and congrats on choosing the RE STS. I love this thing!

I paid a total of $187.00 with ground shipping. I happen to live in NY and they are located in NJ, so I didn't see it worth it to do 2-3 day shipping. It came in 2 days from ground anyways haha. But to do it 2-3 day shipping from standard ground is only 2 bucks more. So if you reallyyyy want it that bad to do it by the weekend, then by all means go for it. Hope the info helped!

It sure was a lot of help bro. By the way, was the install easy? cuz when I was installing a AVN6600 to my brother's 350z I really had a difficult time removing that damn OEM shift ****. His car was a guinea pig to see if it was easy to install aftermarket shift ****. But I ended up not taking the **** off cuz the damn thing wouldnt budge. I can install audio stuff but I am new to technical stuff like tranny and shifter. How was your install?

No problem at all for the extra info man! Always lookin out for fellow G35 owners! But yea the extra pivot cup could def come in handy just in case it does break. Nobody wants to look at a G35 sitting in a driveway knowing you can't drive it. I just happen to be lucky in not breaking mine while removing the stock shifter. But yea def purchase that ASAP and let us know when its finished. I'm sure we'll be hearing another rave review!

The install was very easy to do because they instructions RE gives ya with the aftermarket shifter is loaded with picture by picture steps. As long as you follow what it says everything will come out as exactly as intended. But yes the stock shift **** is a bitchhhhh to get off and back on again. It literally took all of my strength to twist that damn thing off. Reason is cause they threadlocked the heck out of it so it really stays put. Which is fine and all if you like stock subpar shifters lol. Just make sure you use a wrench or grip to hold the base of the shifter from moving. Then with an adjustable wrench/crescent wrench and a rag or cloth you can uncrank the stock ****. If you don't have an extra wrench gripping the base of the shifter itself when you remove the **** you run the risk of twisting the linkage between the shifter and the gear change rod. If you twist that up....you're in a world of trouble. So just make it easier on urself and don't do that heh. Repeat the same process when you put the **** back on too with the newly installed STS. I happen to tear the leather on my shifter a bit when reinstalling it because it was so tough to screw the **** back on. So really be careful using that wrench and rag. Just take your time and make sure you do the installation right! It'll all be worth it in the end, rest assured! Good luck man!

So two things:

1. I have an 06. How do you remove the console?

2. You mentioned holding the base with a wrench whiel twisting off the ****. Do you mean hold the shifter rod? How do you get to it with the boot still on?

Thanks! You've been very helpful. I just ordered my RE yesterday.

^^ Yup. But be very cautious and lock that wrench tight and use some elbow grease. I'll tell you two things for sure it wont be easy and pretty scary. Good luck!
