hows the short throw?
Haha VQ35 you been practicing already i see? But yea in order to get to the actual shifter you have to first remove the center console. https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-diy/90507-diy-06-hu-removall.html This is the link I was given when I first inquired about removing the console. Just look at the pics and it explains itself. Once you can remove the center console part then you have easy access to the shifter rod where you can clamp on the wrench. But yea you may think you are gonna snap something in your car because it does require a lil force to get the console off, etc, etc. But trust it won't damage anything.
lol yeah I was bored last night and gave it a try w/ my brother and BOOM!! damn thing came off!! But like you said it was pain in the a$$ to put it back on. My bro and I were so happy, we were like little kids giving each other high five. lol

thanks.
thanks.
That's excellent! I was tinking of doing the same basic thing, but resting the cup on either side of an open vise and pushing the shifter out from the bottom, just upside down. Based on the pics I've seen, this seemed logical. I'll have to keep the slow force method in mind. I was debating giving it a whack with a 5 lb sledge. I guess that is out!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Hey guys im looking into getting a short shifter as well, just got through reading all everyone had to say and I am curious to which short shifter is better:
1. RE Short Shifter
2. B&M Short Shifter
Thanks guys, I appreciate it greatly

Yea that method would work fine using the open vice. I just didn't happen to have access to one when I did mine so I had to improvise! haha But yea def keep in mind the slow force method....sledge hammering it would prob not produce good results lol.
Just read the previous posts man! RE is the only way to go! Seeing how I just put mine in a week ago I can attest that it was the only right choice! I just went from stock to RE and its a world of difference. Ive seen more iffy comments bout the B&M over the RE when searching this forum. And the only iffy comments i've read about the RE is that it rattles. But the only reason it rattles is cause people don't tighten the **** down all the way so the little metal chafer piece clinks around with transmission vibration! But if you install it properly I will assure you there is NO rattle whatsoever and practically little to ZERO vibration with the RE shifter.
