new coupe 1month old has been in service for 3 weeks. what to do.. stealership story

hey i guys as most of u know from all my posts, i sold my 04 auto coupe and leased a 06 6mt coupe.

well here it goes, when i sighned my papers and got my car i noticed a small dent in the driver side fender, the dealer gave me a we owe u slip and and promised to fix it... i said ok

two weeks after enjoying the car i gave it to them and said fix it. i also had a small scratch on my rear bumper , very minor could have been my fault.

i got my car back and i noticed that my fender did not line up properly with my bumper, i also noitced that they repinted my whole fender and blended it to the door. in addition to that they fixed up the miner scratch in the back but for some reason they left a haze in my clearcoat of my rear bumper.

i was furious that a brand new car had to be repainted. repainted cars, especially black ones are never the same (mine is black).

i live far from the delaer ship and called them while i was mad, they made a deal to fix all my problems, pick up the car, leave me a loaner , and deliver it back when done.

they told me the turn around will be one week, it has been two and my car still aint ready.

my car is 5 weeks old, its has been in service for 2 and half weeks so far... im pissed that i paid my lease for a car im not using, also im assuming 99% that they repainted my front bumper , fender and rear bumper to make all the panels match colors. the car is brand new and when its repainted it is never the same right? durability wise from my experience if u bump a factory painted bumper its not easy to scratch but when its repainted u can easly chip the paint or crack the clear coat, causing webs in the clear. .... will my car be as durable (paint wise) as it was when factory.

i demanded they detail and wax it when finished, i want a new looking car, and make sure there are now swirls or waves in the paint at night

what should i do, they guys at service are nice but im furious that half my car is repainted and its not even 1500 mile on it.

what compensation should i demand .. will my bumpers and panels be as durably as before if i were to ever scratch or bump them?

I can't comment on what to do, but I had a recent accident and my black paint job was superb. Perfectly blended, even the natural deformation look of the paint is completely replicated. As for durability that is something that you should not worry about. Besides, normally you are given a lifetime warranty with such work.

I was told that black is the easiest to color match and blend. I also heard the color white was easy to blend.

black is the easiest color to color match. it should be a perfect match, a match you cannot tell was changed. if it isnt, demand that it be repainted. if they tell you black cannot be perfectly matched, theyre lying.

you may not want them to wax it though...everyone says to wait about 30 -90 days b4 waxing a new paint job to let the paint "breath" and cure

Stop sending it to the dealer? Seems like everytime you send it in it comes back worse; in your opiniom. Live with the imperfections as they are. Sorry to hear you r not happy with your new G.

i have a 2003.5 black coupe and my boss has a 2006 black coupe..we both added custom parts to our cars that we made and painted them to atch the car as he owns the team body shop and i work here also...and no haze with almost a perfect match a normal eye couldnt tell the dif where we painted..and wow that sux *** man

also when i got my car from the dealer they did a hack detail and almost my whole rear end including my qtr panels were hazy...i did a simple wet sand buff polish and waxing =0) and it looked like a whole new car

Yo I got my 05 G there too, I've been dealing with this guy name Mike at the service center.

Nice people over there, but they sure do a crappy job when comes to service warranty cars, I think their service men are little sloppy, give u an example.

Last time i went in for my seatbelt replacement (Seatbelt was loosen on the driver side)

The guy feaking dirtied (oily) my floor mats in the rear seat, due to that no one sat at the back, I didn't find out until a month later. Sucks.

yes it is hard..very hard. Trust me I know. The shop that did my car did a great job, but not perfect since i knew the IP wouldnt match the rest of the car. A few weeks later i notieced that the color started blending in a lot more. Now you can hardly tell it was repainted. IP is a hard color to match, but a good bodyshop like the one i went to did a great job in the end. Too bad its in MD away from you
