I finally saw the 335i coupe the other day and i was not impressed. The front looks great but the rear is so blah. I liked the e46 more

I have an '04 G35 Coupe and my friend just recently bought a 335i coupe. I guess if you guys are being honest and not biased thats cool, but you really have no idea how fast the new G will be or how it will perform. Why hate on the BMW? if you havent seen it in real life and driven it (i have) then dont be so quick to judge. Its an unbelievable car with unbelievable potential (turbo anyone?) just because the bimmer guys are chewing it all up doesnt mean we have to be resentful. Its elegant, fast, and smooth something the infiniti hasnt caught on yet (smooth? dont give me the rough suspension argument BMW feels every bump and still feels smooth as cake). So anyway, 08 coupe will look very nice, but seriously is JDM, dont trash talk Euro cars, there's a reason they set the benchmark, if you are looking at them through a biased filter, take it off and do an even comparison. This way i hope we can all enjoy 2 very, very good cars that both deserve credit.

 

wait for the 08 Coupe, it will likely be faster than the BMW335i! the 335i is a nice car indeed but if you want a coupe, wait for the 08 coupe it will be damn sexy! im looking to getting a sedan for my next option and id personally go with the 335i sedan because i like the looks better than the new 07 G35, just my opinion but yah!

Its an M3.

I hear that with a drop in filter and an ecu/chip they got the 335 making 320hp to the wheels. Thats pretty sweet. But then again I hear that the car doesnt come with a good diff and lacks suspension and handling.

 

i had a 2002 m5 for a couple months...then i sat in my cousins g35....got rid of it bought a subaru impreza and am waiting for the redesign. lol

How dare somebody compare the new BMW 3 series rear end to an Accord!? That's outrageous, anyone who has visited the Temple of VTec knows that the BMW rear end is a revolution of the last gen CIVIC, NOT Accord. mmmkay?


btw: G37C > 3 series Coupe all the way...... unless I was looking into a hardtop convertible, then I can't ignore the 3.

 

Wait a minute, you just contridicted yourself. You said, "...there are no pictures or perfomance data..." but yet you also said, "...As much as I hate to say this, 08 G wont match the 335i performance let alone be faster...". You know this how? Anywho, don't want to nit pick to much.

I think most folks who are on the Bimmer side is missing the point: Most here are saying that the 08 coupe will look better (inside and out, and since we've all see the concept, which is supposedly 90 % close to the 08 coupe) and yes, the performance of that car is really nice but is lacking in all other categories. I was never a fan of the "boxy" look of the bimmer. That was why I chose the G35 Coupe. Now, I'm thinking of the Cayman S OK, I digress...the point is, they are both nice cars. I think if the G35 crowd wanted to go by performance, they would just look at the new GT-R when it will get released. Some say that it will do 0-60 is about 4 secs. I don't think even the M3 can do that.

 

i never understand why people bash another sick car just because they have the competitor. I understand there is a thing called brand loyalty, but bmw is the original drivers car. The new coupe is def one of my choices when it comes out but so is the 335. As much as I love my G over 3 series, we def do not have the solidness of the german car, and anyone who argues that point i dont want to hear it because its bs. Both sick cars I will def have to drive both and see which one i like better.

The 08 coupe will be one of the hottest cars on the road. The Bimmer will look like the other thousands of 3 series out there. Not even a decision to make in my opinion....
