Windows tinted!

Had my windows tinted this weekend. Wasn't sure how it would look with the Desert Platinum. Tint King (Billerica,MA) had a platinum tint that they recommended as a good look/match. I was very pleased with the results. Now I can start on some of the more "fun" mods (engine & suspension)....

Re: Windows tinted!

That looks real nice with your color. I don't like the platinum on the other colors though.

I'm not a fan of mirror or silver tint either, but it looks good.

Re: Windows tinted!

Thanks. I agree. Platinum tint wouldn't look right on most of the other colors. The photo is deceiving as the windows aren't as mirrored as they appear (tint is 30%).

Re: Windows tinted!

Xenon, the desert platinum does look silver in some conditions (it was cloudy when I took photo). It wasn't my first choice in color but it is really growing on me. I have seen the black/smoke tint on Brilliant Silver and it looks really good. Here's another photo that may show color a little better.

Re: Windows tinted!

I've been wanting to see what that would look like. At first, I thought it looked pretty good...until I noticed the stock, big black outline around the rear window--kinda makes the whole thing look strange to me, unfortunately. I think I'll stick w/ normal dark tint or no tint at all on mine.

Para911 - I am in Quincy.

fldrummer - I thought so too at first (outline) but now I don't really notice it. If I had Brilliant Silver I would have gone with black/smoke.

Re: Windows tinted!

I have DP and it does change with the weather. Sometimes it does look like the Silver.. That is why I love this color, it changes when the weather changes.

Re: Windows tinted!

Nice car and tint... I too have a DP and like the color. I think all colors look great and decided since DP looks like each silver depending on the weather/light it would be cool to have. So far no regrets... although I wish there was a way to change the color whenever I feel like it... (ie monday DG.. tuesday IP.. wednesday Black.. etc...)
