Re: lease

I put my Honda Accord ($10,000 credit) plus $3,900 down and my 48 mo lease costs $339mo.

Re: lease

BIG, is that with or without tax? If that is with Tax that is an excellent deal. My credit was good but this was my first lease and my credit record wasn't as lengthy as some. So I figured I would be getting screwed. But I think I did ok for my backround and age on my first lease. This will most likely be my last as well unless my business takes off. Peace.

Re: lease

A few more advantages that haven't been mentioned yet...

1) Lower interest rate for the lease. I have excellent credit and the lowest rate I could find for a purchase was 3.9%. My lease interest rate is 3%. Also, instead of paying interest on the value of the car, I do not pay interest on the residual value portion of the car.

2) With a lease, you get the option for a 2/3/4 years test drive. If the car turns out to be a lemon or didn't turn out to be what you thought you wanted, you simply walk away at the end of the lease. The G35 was a first year car, and I didn't wants to take the risk of getting struck with something that turns out to be a nightmare.

3) A lease locks in the residual value of your car. Suppose the residual (pay off) value for the car is $15K after 3 years. If the car turns out to be a POS and resale value tanks, then you give the keys back and walk away clean at the end of the lease. If the car turns out to holds its value better than expected, then you sell the car on your own, pay off the residual and pocket the extra cash.

4) No waiting. Instead of waiting three months for a coupe, my leasing company found the exact one I wanted in 2 days. Think about this the next time you see a post about how the dealer made a mistake on the order, or a car that didn't come in when it was supposed to...

Re: lease

I would be glad to evaluate your lease deal, but I would need the final sales price, money factor (lease % rate) and residual value. Also, is the $3100 your down payment only or was that the total cash required when you completed the deal?

Re: lease

G35_Guy

I'll need more info to give you a price range on leases. I use the same software that car dealerships use to help evaluate my deals. The only way I can determine if $584/month is a decent deal, you'll have to provide the "out the door" sales price, the money factor or lease % and the residual value. The more info you can give me the better I can evaluate.

I can only say, "buyer beware" on lease deals because car dealerships play a "shell" game with the residual value. I have seen residuals quoted on the 2004 G35 Coupe anywhere from
$16,100 up to $17,400 on a 48 month lease. As you know, this has a big impact on your monthly payment. The goal in leasing is to negotiate the lowest possible sale price, in this case its the MSRP. Since there is very little negotiating on the sale price of the Coupe, look for the best residual value, assuming that you will trade in your vehicle at the end of the lease.

Re: lease

It's $448 including tax, in that good RED?????
Im 20 and I think my credit scare was around 680ish and they told me I also had a good credit score for my age but the bank didn't want to take the risk on me because i had no job even though my dad was the Co signer, So my dad leased the car for me and he had a 740 score. I put 3100 out the door

Re: lease

G35_4EVR,

Oh, I wasn't trying to see if my lease was a good deal, I was just giving my numbers for the originator of the thread to get some ideas. Thanks for the offer though!

Re: lease

Oh, my bad.

I have this desire to make sure no one gets ripped off in a car deal, so I like to help when I can.
