Hello all,
I would like to change my front bumper and hood out. I have looked at many things and really like the carbon fiber hoods. My questions is does anyone know if you can paint carbon fiber? or Can you get carbon fiber hoods in other colors besides black?

look up the UTR car they have a G coupe with a painted red CF hood where you can see the weaves

 

carbon fiber is carbon fiber... it doesn't come in black, it comes in carbon fiber. the fiber is laced with black carbon weaving, therefore it is not a solid color.

Yes, quite a few members on here have gone with the carbon fiber hoods and painted them.

you can paint carbonfiber hoods the same way you'd paint a bumper or fender.. how to get carbon to be colorized without COLOR Carbon is by using transparent paint.. or Candy Paint.

You can paint CF the same as you would with Fiberglass. As for colors, yes CF can come in a multitude of colors but I have never seen anyone make hoods, trunks, Etc in any of them but the standard.

 

Although u have a red coupe, kevlar can come out yellowish. (just providing more examples)

the whole car isnt carbon fiber..but it sure looks like it is from that picture, doesnt it?!

its a LR coupe with cf hood, front, and fenders. then it stops there..lol
