I couldn't agree more with everyone who says the coupe is fine for the occasional kid hauling. I have 2 children and 3 of my last 4 cars were coupes. As long as it's not your primary car for the kids you'll have no problem.
IMO, the extra effort to get them in/out is well worth having the coupe!
Of course my daughter prefers to ride in "Dad's" car on the weekends!

I take my 4 year old to preschool every day and it's not a problem.
If you have a tall passenger in the front at the same time I could see them being a bit cramped.
One thing I did notice after two months, I took the seat out and the leather had indentations where the seat was. So, I put cardboard under the car seat to help displace the weight more evenly.
