help! does ur 6mt shiftknob vibrate on idle?

Brand new less then 2 weeks old with only 200 miles... Why is my shift **** vibrating? Seems kinda 'cheap' for a 40k car...

My 1996 Acura Integra LS Turbo with over 200k doesn't vibrate as much as my brand new Infiniti......... wtf?

Anyone else does the same?

i don't know how severe your shifter is vibrating, but i would say, by mine, i can tell the engine is running. maybe you should take a trip to the dealership and test drive another g and compare.

Any manual car with direct linkage will vibrate. Don't think of it as cheap, think of it as another way of receiving feedback from the car.

Cable shifters don't vibrate.

what do you expect? oh course it vibrates ROFL...

...just about every manual does that.... I've never actually been in or driven a manual that didn't vibrate. Your old car was probably soo warn in that there was a larger seperation.. Lots of horses rumbling around in the engine bay inches away from the shifter...

that vibration is all the N/A horses you were missing in ur integra... I would have lemoned my G if my shifter didn't vibrate...

no vibration = weeeeaaakkk

Pretty much so. The vibration has nothing to do with how many horses a car has, it depends on whether it's direct or cable linkage.

i will wait a couple months or and see if i will have more issues, such as window rattle, and oil consumption...

Yes, it vibrates and I like it. It kind of makes me feel plugged into the car.

Do yourself a favor. Go trade your car back in , and go buy yourself a Bentley. Maybe then the car wont be so cheap. Infiniti's are obviously to cheap for you.

You bought a performance oriented coupe, yes the engine won't be as quiet. Also, the bottom of the gear shift is directly connected to the transmission, so thats normal. Your intgera didn't vibrate nearly as much cause you had shift linkage and your rotational mass (Transmission + Engine) was perpendicular to the cabin, not parallel as the G is.
