Yea, we were. Well, in any event, the M3 and I stayed even, wasn't paying attention to the exact speed we shut down at though.

I think the upcoming 335 coupe with 300+ HP? will be able to beat current era Gs. The bar will be raised with the new '07/'08 models.

That is with the sport button pushed. Now with out the sport button being pushed it will be about even up till 100 but it will pull slightly. As you can see by my Sig I have basic mods exhaust and intake nothing else. So you be the judge as for the 330 after reading and talking to them the 330 was chipped and had a intake and exhaust upgraded diff and and flywheel and clutch and was racing a 2003 G35 which is slower than the 06 and 05 not sure about 04 but the G was stock no exhaust was heard or intake so that is the reason for the kill.
if all he is pulling on you is a car and half 0-100 then he is a horrible driver. those e46 m3's are no joke and will pull easily 3 cars by 100.

It all just depends what the variables are!
modded vs modded? stock vs stock? modded vs stock? good driver vs bad driver?

LOL there are so many factors. Like the bimmer thread said, its modded vs stock. modded 330 will win with the decent driver. its simple!

So the simple answer to your question is YES and NO at the same time!
Uh... when comparing, its like a universal law to compare STOCK cars ASSUMING equal drivers. That is the best way to compare 2 vehicles.

It just isnt fair to compare a stock vs a modified vehicle, or stock cars with different types of drivers; but then again thats street racing.

Same argument I get everywhere, and my answer as always. We both know how to drive it is a 6 speed we have been to the road school at road Atlanta held by panoz. The car is not god, learn to drive your car and like I said stock M3 vs. modded G35. i turned down getting a M3 to get my G so I know what the car can do every M3 you have raced had the sport mode turned on, puts 15 more horse to the wheels and if you goggle search will find the facts on dynos. The high compression engine doesn't really kick in till top end 100 and above. I choose the G cause you can mod it for cheap and it looks better and it has a true sports car look. The M3 looks liek all other BMW with a wider body. I have a e46 still so I know what I am talking about. I am not a just a G drive I have both and if you have questions about the engines on them i can tell you everything you want to know.

Thank you have a nice day and drive safely...

wow I didn't know there was a UNIVERSAL LAW of comparing cars. People compare cars however they want and generalize the results. That's what's going on.

Someone made and unfair comparison(modded vs stock) and draw a general conclusion that 330 can whoop G35s. Then the whole G35 community goes crazy.

I agree that when we compare cars make sure its FAIR. like stock vs stock or modded vs modded. That's what usually makes sense and should be common sense, therefore universal law.

Sometimes it could be a fair comparison based on HP rating or some other factors. Like turbo civic and a WRX.

Maybe huge hp car vs great handling car in a race track that's equaly balanced with straightaways and curves.

...i still have trouble believing that an N/A G on stock ECU can stay ahead of an E46 M3's rear bumper consistently in rolling races....

You have no idea what you are talking about

Adds 15 horsepower to the wheels? All it does is it makes the throttle more sensitive. Where on google are you finding this information?

Stock my car pulls 0-60 in 5.54 ALL DAY and i still loose a lil more than 3 car lenghts everytime to two manual m3's and one SMG II. By the way your car isnt modded to the point where its WOW so i dont know whats going on with you guys.

Since you have no idea, the M3 only opens the throttle body 70 percent in normal mode and 100 percent in sport mode. I will get you the link from e46 fanatics so you can read about it.

Here is a comparision

If you have them handy, I would like to see that dyno chart where M3 gains 15 Hp with Sport button on.

Since you have no idea, the M3 only opens the throttle body 70 percent in normal mode and 100 percent in sport mode. I will get you the link from e46 fanatics so you can read about it.
Yes, Sport button changes throttle respones but when in WOT like when you are "racing" or on the dyno? it get 100% with Normal mode, as throttle position gets higher? the difference between two modes are less and less, so I dont really see how it would gain more HP/TQ by press that button.

Here are couple of thread regarding "Sport button" over at E46Fanatics...

look at the throttle map. at 100% throttle (=pedal on the floor), whether you're in sport mode or not, you get the same 100% butterfly.

the difference between the two is that the throttle is more sensitive. look at the numbers: it takes 13% pedal in nonsport to match 6.7% in sport.. and it takes 40% pedal in nonsport to match ~26% in sport. that means the throttle is more sensitive. as you get higher though the differences decline until you're flooring it, at which point the output is the same 100%.

when you race you should have the pedal on the floor, so sport or nonsport shouldnt matter....
