Can our G-coupe take a Lexus gs400

The 0-60 times are about the same 5.8. A GS400,430 would beat a auto Coupe from a roll or off the line. A 6-speed would have a advantage off the line but probably not on a rolling start. It would come down to the driver of the Coupe. I owned both and the Lexus is very fast plus the quality is unsurpassed.

an auto G can take down the older LS430s (2000) but not the new ones they made them a 6 speed so i think an auto G would loose. LS430s do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds for the new noes. A manual G probaly could take it but it would be a tuff race. Deffently come down to the driver but remember those are autos so dont miss a shift cuz they wont

I think the GS430 feels sluggish after 60 or so mph .. Its fast, but its just not made for the same thing as a G.

are you mad? if there is anywhere that the coupe has an advantage, its down low. the GS4xx is a highway beast. trust me, i have been bery involved with one......

and no the coupe wont always win. the dyno numbers are similar, save for the GS having more torque,. the thing is that the lexus numbers are dummy proof. in one day at the track, my times varied by about a tenth. and thats with 10 or 12 runs..........

Would you take turns at the same speed as our G in tht monster. My mom has a GS430 so don't doubt my experience. Itz freakin huge man, you couldn't weave tht thing in the same traffic you can do in a G. Who cares about straight line speed.

although you cant tell from the last pic, mine handled pretty well. but it had sways, shocks, springs, braces, etc. still heavy, but by no means the boat that it came from the factory as. and im not doubting your experience. i just know that the lexus flies at speed. and weaving in and out of traffic is not the safest thing to be doing in a car, anyway.....

Re: Can our G-coupe take a Lexus gs400
Having just departed with my 99 GS400 for an 04 Coupe Thursday I'll know more shortly. I stuck with a stock GS and the Coupe handles like I wanted my Lexus to. My initial impression is it will be a better performer.
Stock GS I do not think I'd take the turns as fast as the Coupe.
I suppose we get different driving impressions, but I have not noticed the same impression above 50 and 60 with the 400 and did not think the 430 was that different. Maybe with the lack of e-shift in the 430 you have to work it differently. If you were gate shifting maybe going from 3 to 5 gives that impression. With the 400 you can go 3 to 4, if gate shifting it goes from 3 to 5. I have not done that with the pedal floored so maybe it comes out of 5th and back to 4. The Coupe really feels quicker on the upshifts in the man mode, that's based on a whopping 20 miles of playing. I really like having 1st in the man mode, the GS only will let you get to 2-5.
It was tough letting go of the GS, but I decided this was the car to let go for. What an impressive ride. Anyway....for what it's worth!
