Bottom line is both of them are not true. Threads like this **** the shiet out of me. 100hp jetta would beat a 04 coupe or sedan in wrong drivers hands. And by posting such a pointless thread proves that u might be one of those wrong drivers.
Same applies to people who post.........."OO I beat a E46 M3" No fuktard u beat the driver not the car.

I had my STI stolen (which is why i got my G
). And without a hint of a doubt the Sti will toy around with the G (a wrx doesnt need much to do the same). It has that kind of brute power we all crave once in a while but definitly dont want on daily basis. Its extremely stiff and the power delivery is very swift. I love and miss my sti but I gotta tell you im extremely glad i have my G when im stuck in traffic or driving all day.

agreed....Just cause you get your butt kicked dosnt mean you have to bring up looks. Just remeber you wanted to race him thinking you could win. Now you lost and have to bring up looks. So sad. Funny at times, but it gets old real quick.

I'll be speaking from experience guys. I've had both cars.
Stock WRX vs Stock G35coupe MT with equal drivers, the WRX will win.
Most of the time wrx lose, its because very very few people know how to drive that AWD. The launch is freakin tough. The AWD is the ultimate advantage from a stop.
Car and Driver records 0-60 as low as 5.4sec. Quarter mile is 14.2 sec trap speed around 94-96mph. It has low trap speed but low times because launch.
Its pretty much drivers race. The G35 is so much easier to drive.
From a roll however a G will whoop the WRX! Still close though.
but a modded wrx vs modded G. The modded wrx will win.

A buddy of mine has an 03 wrx. Bone stock. I convinced him to go with us to a local 1/8th mile drag strip a few months back. It was his first time to ever visit a drag strip.
I've never attempted to launch an AWD car, but I've read many times about how difficult it is. This guy was definitely having trouble. He kept getting 2.3's, 2.4's, and 2.5's.
I rode with him once, and his shifting was fine. And he's wind it out to get the most power out of it. But on that night, he was stuck trapping 71mph. Run after run after run.
I was trapping 78mph. My wife's 04 automatic sedan was trapping 74mph.
From a roll, a 3 or 4mph trap difference is decent. A 7mph difference is impossible to overcome, barring driver error.
