also, one thing that i noticed the last run is i shifted early into fourth gear to finish the quarter. Shifted before 7k. Do u guys wait till past 7k like 7200 or 7300 or shift before that.

A few weeks ago, I tested out short-shifting. I short shifted every gear at 6600, and I trapped 99mph on 2 runs back to back. I then shifted at an *indicated* 7300, in each gear, and I trapped 101mph on 2 runs back to back.

what kind of tires are u running? if u dropped ure clutch over 4k rpms on stock tires theres no way u cut a 2.1 or even 2.2.... more like 2.4-2.5. u would spinn all through first gear!! either ure slipping the clutch and not knowing it or u have drag radials..or SOMETHING.. lol help me here.. if i go over 2500rpms and drop the clutch i spin like a ****.. do u have special decoder ring on and use the schwarts while launching or something. if so where can i get this?

hmm i was wondering why my mph didnt seem too high on my 14.20 (98.5)and i have yet to break 100 on any run.. i was shifting right as it hit the red.. like 6800.. do u guys all go up to 72-7300 before shifting?

Driver....no doubt.....

I firmly believe that I can take my G to a low 14 with the mods I have. Real basic.

Also, I think 13's wouldn't be out of the question with an exhaust and possible tune/reflash.

And yes, I am a 6MT.

I firmly believe all u need in these cars to break into the 13's is drag radials.. all i have is a cold air intake which i know basically does nothing.. and im hitting 14.20 w/ a 2.26 60 ft. any sub 2.1 60 ft launch and 13's are easily mine..

My first thought is to agree with the driver error diagnosis, but what's the elevation of that track? I find it odd that your friend also has some disappointing times as well.
My first time at the track with my 05 resulted in 14.3 at 98+mph. That's bone stock, stock tires, 3/4 tank of gas, and spare. I launched at around 3000 rpm and shifted at 6800 rpm.

The revup's redline at an indicated 7000, not 6600. They have a fuel cut at 7200. The tach seems to be off by around 200 to 300, so when I shift at an indicated 7300, I'm really shifting at like 7100.

Conditions play a role, but he's being out-trapped by an automatic z by 3mph. I don't want to bring up the 6mt/5at debate, but that car should not be out-trapping him by that much.

Does anyone here think that drag racing a sport car is a little, uh... odd?

Let's go find a lonesome curvy road or track and compete for times and track position.

You want to drag race? Buy an old Nova, gut it and drop a huge, blown V8 in it with matching running gear and have at it.

stock, driven by a good driver the G is supposed to be able to run a 14.6 in the quarter, so you aren't doing that badly. The pop charger is realy just noisy and may give you a whole 2 hp. The grounding kit usually gives no hp gains. The only real performance mod you have are the test pipes so I wouldn't expect miracles at the track dude.

Nothing wrong with knowing what your car does in the quarter. If magazines stopped publishing 0-60 and quarter mile times I bet you'd complain.

Well at the track, for me, first gear did really spin that much. Not sure if they over prepped the track or whatever but when i dumped it...it just took off. I am putting stock cats and takin it to the dealership. When i get this oil consumption problem fixed I will take it back to the track and see wut's up. Thank you everyone for your responses.
