My dad had an S2000 which he modded (exhuast, headers...) and I raced him in a 2005 350z. I beat him every time we went at it... pulled more about 45-50 mph (and above) than at any other point. He was a little emberassed by it so he traded it in on a 05 Viper. Anway, point is the car is fast. Not as fast as everyone seems to think, but our G35 is heavier than the 350z so expect it to be slower.

Secondly, its ridiculous that the guy makes a post and you guys start giving him shlt for it. I am sure that other people on here think that some of your own posts are gay as well but you dont have to bust on him. Obviousley the forum is for people to come in here and discuss what they want to discuss. If you dont want ot join in, there is a little function at the top of the screen called the back button. Use it and quit being an A$$. There is no need to boost your own ego by acting like your the "man of the forum" and put everyone else down. Get a life... and you all know who you are when I say this.

If YOU'RE going to call out someone's spelling, make sure YOURS is correct first.

I almost bought an s2000 a few months ago. I liked the car. It was very responsive and quick to rev into the high RPM's, which really helped with that torque problem. In the end, I decided not to go with it (it was a 2000) because of the 50,000 miles and the fact that it beat the crap out of me when I drove it. That's someothing I can handle on short drives, but I'm looking at 20+ minutes whenever I want to go somewhere, so the G35 became the clear choice for me. Also, the G just looks SO much better, I don't even care how fast it is.

also you can take two more passengers and put **** in the back haha. I thought about it before also..but the car is just too small for me...another reason why I didn't end up getting the Z.

A stock S2000 redlines at 7200 and hits the rev limiter at 8600! With a Hondata Reflash and some cams you can probably go to 11,000 safely! I know with the RSX-S this is easily obtainable so I'm sure the same goes for the S2000. I got raped by an S2000 from a dig in my 02 Type-S and I was heavily modded compared to his AEM CAI and his HKS Exhaust. In my defense his RWD helped and so did his LSD.
11,000! God I hope you are kidding. Valves hit the pistons in a K-series at about 9,300 RPM, stock. Even with Valve springs and Rods, your engine would be lifeless pretty quickly at those RPMs.

As for the redline in an S2000, are we talkign AP1 or AP2? The AP2 is cut short by 1000 rpm due to the stroke. The F22s are dynoing about 25 more whp though than the F20s. There are those on S2KI who absolutely refuse to believe it, but that's another story all together.

I don't know why S2KI wouldn't believe the F22s are putting down more, Honda reworked the intake manifold and fuel maps. I wouldn't be suprised if Honda is doing the same as Nissan by not allowing the Drive-by-wire to open your throttle 100% at any time!!!

Just so we can settle the RPM debate.... here is a pic of my AP1. Remember AP1's redline is higher than AP2's.

If can't see it that well, it says 9,000.

Sounds like this guy (OP) is driving auto, so right there he loses cool points.
Stock vs. stock, an 05 6MT should be right there with an S2000. Maybe even win by a quarter panel. If the S2000 has i/h/e, it's over.

Isn't this the last year for the S2000? I here they are replacing it with something to compete with the GTR.
